Spacious sites with a nice sense of privacy. Quiet and best view I've ever seen of the Milkyway. I will definitely go again. Google Maps got me there great but going back was terrible terrifying so be wary.

Secluded, but has weak Verizon. With my Weboost I got 3 bars of 5G! Most sites are spacious. Site 42 is pull through.... huge! Trees and fire ring and picnic table. This is our 4th time here... love it. Great hikes!

Heron Lake is higher than a year ago in September 2022. It was at that time that the problem with the water began. One year has passed and they have not fixed it, look how old the sign is! Careless management that does not care about the Park users! Shame on them. Look at the trash bins overflowing!

Blanco is a beautiful big rig campground in Heron Lake State Park. Every site has electric and water. The cost is only $14 a night - the same as all the NM State Parks! It's a great deal. The sites are large and surrounded by trees making them feel very private. There's a trail that takes you to the lake. There are 7 - 8 first-come sites located at the end of the loop. UPDATE 2023 - There are no first-come sites in Blanco loop anymore. The park is all reservations now. There's also no water in the park. We bought our water at a local RV Park. There are gnats here now that descend on you in a minute if you sit outside. You need a fire to keep them away. Never had that before. No Camp Host. The other 2 state parks we've been to this year have been the same. No Camp Host and no first-come sites. Everything is done online now and I don't think we'll be back.

This campground is a pearl. Super clean, beautiful camp sites, very friendly camp host who kept everything spiffy clean. And....hot showers, so it was dreamy. The campground has a long very maintained trail called salmon run, just lovely

Stayed at Heron Lake State Park / Blanco Campground for 2-weeks. One of the cleanest and well kept NM State Parks around. Between the views of the lake and the ponderosa pines, this is a perfect get away location. Cell service on Verizon is about 2 bars and AT&T is 3 bars. Nearest town to get groceries is in the town of Chama, 20 minutes or so away. My only wish is this state park had 50amp service, its only got 20/30

Nice campground, wasn't crowded, when we were there, spaces are spaced pretty well. Showers were out, something about pump being broke, but there was still water at campsites ??

This is a great place. Only 4 stars for the sole reason. Camp sites are pretty close to each other . Just like any other. I'm used to dry docking and park as far away as I like. Compleat dark and stars. But the aminetys are good. Electric sites bathrooms water. . I'm just used to being alone when camping. Still love it here
