This is a great campground. Dump station about 20 mins away with free water too. Most spots are fairly level. The place was jammed while I was there. Lots of dogs loose and running around without leashes. No garbage bins. Take your trash to the dump station area.

Nice spot to park if you know how to spot and avoid the sand traps and washes, though obviously inside the park is nicer if you're just on vacation! Never follow tire tracks into loose sand, even if you see a vehicle out there - they may be stuck too and you may end up with a 500+ tow bill. Your roadside assistance plan will likely leave you stranded because it's too far from the paved road.

Really finding a different rendition of life out here in the desert. Pulled in at dusk and in the morning found 2 dozen various RV's around me of all kinds. Really cool to see the beautiful sunset, stars, and sunrise in one place. You might also want to take in another free location at General Patton's Memorial Museum about 5 miles east with numerous tanks out front.

Excellent spot. Very close to the interstate, which comes with cell service. Easy to access areas within the land from the roads. Located along the road which takes you directly into Joshua Tree NP, which is a super plus.

Good reception of Verizon cellular. Much cleaner than expectation. Little busy in weekend but still enough space in November. Need water and bathroom, which can be accessed in Cottonwood spring visiter center in park.
