It was Columbus Day weekend. Candy wrappers were everywhere and the bathrooms were trashed. There was so much trash along the road and clothing, toilet paper, and other nasty stuff in the bathroom. Kids pretty much wrecked the park. Hosts don’t do anything, a person came around twice in the 5 days we were there. Could be a great park.

We stayed in site # 78 right on the waters edge. The campground is very nice, but the area is very isolated. The lake view was nice, but there was quite a bit of litter in the water that was blown to the shoreline. The campground had just recently replaced all the Water pipes and spigots, but hadn't yet had a chance to landscape the construction areas and with some heavy rain, the campground was very muddy. The price of progress I guess, and I'm sure that with a little time the vegetation will restore the area. Restrooms and showers were clean and warm

UPDATE: as we were leaving, my husband asked the attendants to mark us as an early departure so we could get a refund. Mrs. Shoemaker said “y’all may not like this campground but it’s the best around and you don’t have to come back!” The most rude and unprofessional experience we’ve had at a campground. Unbelievable. IF YOU WANT A SWIMMING HOLE OUTSIDE YOUR CAMPER DOOR, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. This campground has potential to be great. However, we booked 2 campsites and upon arrival all but the gravel pad on the site was flooded. You could not step out of the camper without stepping in water. We spoke to the park host and requested to move sites. He told us they couldn’t do anything but if we wanted to book another site on the app and PAY FOR IT we could. We told them we were gonna have to go to a different campground and one of the park host stated” well leave then.” These spots should have never been available to book to begin with. We’ve camped at many places and have never been treated so poorly. We left and went to Town Creek Campground and had a great experience.
