Blue Lake Resort Campground

Overview

Blue Lake Resort Campground offers a peaceful retreat centered around the shimmering waters of a 240-acre spring-fed lake. Located in the heart of Northeastern Indiana, this destination combines traditional outdoor recreation with the comforts of a modern RV park. Visitors often come for the scenic waterfront views and stay for the community-oriented atmosphere that makes the park feel like a home away from home. It functions as both a dedicated seasonal hub and a welcoming stop for travelers exploring the Midwest lake country.

Location & Surroundings

The resort is situated just outside Churubusco, a town famously known as Turtle Town USA. This location provides a quiet, rural setting while remaining within a short drive of the urban conveniences found in nearby Fort Wayne. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rolling farm fields and dense woodlots typical of the region. Being located on the shores of Blue Lake gives guests immediate access to one of the area's premier fishing and boating spots right from their doorstep.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed to handle modern rigs with ease, offering full hookup RV sites that include water, sewer, and electricity. On-site amenities focus on family fun and convenience, including:

  • A private swimming beach and boat rental services for kayaks and pontoons.
  • A well-stocked general store and clean laundry facilities for long-term stays.
  • A dedicated game room and playground to keep younger travelers entertained.

These features ensure that guests have everything they need for a comfortable and active stay without having to leave the resort grounds.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While the lake is the primary draw, the local area offers diverse excursions for those looking to explore. Consider these nearby highlights:

  • The famous Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, frequently ranked as one of the best in the nation.
  • Chain O' Lakes State Park for extensive hiking and additional paddling opportunities.
  • Seasonal festivals in Churubusco that celebrate the town's unique folklore and history.

These locations provide the perfect balance between rural relaxation and regional exploration for visitors of all ages.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for water sports enthusiasts and families who want a vacation centered on the lake. If you enjoy waking up to the sound of water and spending your afternoons fishing for bass or bluegill, this is a perfect match. It is also a great fit for RVers seeking a social environment where kids can safely play and make new friends. It is less of a quick overnight stop and more of a destination where guests are encouraged to unhook and settle in for a relaxing week.

Cannot swim! The beach is nothing but seaweed. Our treehouse is built better than the cabins. Bath house was clean and roomy and staff seemed nice.

People were nice. The small beach was dirty and completely covered in dog poop. It was pretty run down. No internet.

Loved the lake but it has tons of seaweed. I have seen it cleaner. Love the cabins.

This was a nice campground but needed a lot of work. Also, this was mostly seasonal campsites with very few regular campsites available, almost seemed like a retirement community. I will say everyone here was VERY friendly! The beach had so much seaweed and algae I wouldn’t let the kids swim. Paddle boats were not available although they let us take the kayaks for the day for free. Overall it was okay, not a bad experience, although I wouldn’t recommend to my friends or family.

We love this seasonal campground. The campground community is what makes this place great! Every summer we look forward to spending our time here.
