Blue Lake RV Resort

Overview

Blue Lake RV Resort offers a tranquil escape nestled in the scenic landscapes of North Idaho. Located just south of Bonners Ferry, this destination is defined by its pristine spring-fed lake and mountainous backdrop. The park is known for its well-maintained grounds and friendly service, providing a peaceful atmosphere for travelers looking to disconnect while still enjoying modern conveniences. It provides a balanced experience between a traditional resort and the rugged beauty of the Idaho Panhandle.

Location & Surroundings

Set in the quiet community of Naples, ID, the park sits between the majestic Selkirk and Cabinet Mountains. The high elevation and surrounding forests provide cooler summer temperatures and stunning views of the jagged ridges. The region serves as a gateway to the Canadian border and the vast Idaho wilderness. Its proximity to US Highway 95 makes it easily accessible for travelers, yet the layout ensures that the focus remains on the private lake access that serves as the park’s primary natural feature.

Amenities & Park Features

Guests can expect high-quality facilities, including full hookup sites equipped with 30 and 50-amp service. Many sites are big-rig friendly with wide pull-through access to accommodate larger coaches. On-site amenities include:

  • A private swimming beach and boat launch
  • Clean laundry and shower facilities
  • A fenced dog park for pet travelers
  • A general store with essential supplies
The resort also features a non-motorized lake environment, ensuring that kayaking and fishing remain peaceful and undisturbed by engine noise.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to explore within a short drive of the resort. The Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge is nearby, offering excellent birdwatching and photography opportunities throughout the seasons. Visitors can also head south to Sandpoint for local dining or visit Schweitzer Mountain for year-round alpine activities. Fishing and kayaking directly on Blue Lake are popular ways to spend an afternoon without leaving the property, and the McArthur Lake Wildlife Management Area is another nearby gem for nature lovers.

Who This Park Is Best For

This resort is ideal for families and couples who enjoy water-based recreation and quiet evenings by a campfire. It appeals to RVers who prefer a structured resort environment that still feels deeply immersed in the wilderness. The park caters to those who appreciate a slower pace of life away from heavy city noise. Because of its spacious pull-through sites, it is an excellent choice for big-rig owners seeking a reliable home base while exploring the scenic wonders of Northern Idaho.

Wonderful small RV park! Super clean restrooms, very family and pet-friendly, quiet setting and very nice staff. Very close to the small town of Bonner's Ferry and easy access to the Canadian Border and Sandpoint.

Our site was nice. The RV park overlooked a small lake. Lots of turtles and fish to feed. Nice lounge. Wine, beer, champagne, etc. Enjoyed talking with our host/barkeep! Enjoyed our short stay.

This RV park is very clean and well managed. The sites are flat and many are located in the trees and around the lake. Makes for a very nice relaxing stay.

We stayed in a full hookup site right across from the office . Beautiful mountain setting . Sites had a good amount of room between them and there were some trees. The camp ground is well maintained and clean . The bathrooms are dated but they keep them very clean . There is a beautiful walking path through a field of yellow flowers to take the dogs on and there is a small enclosed dog park to let the kids off leash . The lake is wonderful to sit by and you can find tons of turtles and there were schools of small catfish . You are by a working train track and they come through periodically but if you’re used to trains it’s no big deal. Great place to find water falls in Bonners Ferry area as well and hit huckleberry season so went up and found TONS of wild huckleberries …AND thimbleberries …yummy 😊 Overall great stay !

I stumbled on this campground during my 5000 mile motorcycle tour of the Pacific NW. It was later in the evening and I was dog tired. I was warmly received and easily booked to a tent site. Very happy I found this comfortable spot with very gracious hosts. Great location too.
