Blue Spruce RV Park & Cabins

There are RV parks where you simply park for the night, and then there are places that become part of your trip. Blue Spruce RV Park & Cabins was definitely the second one for us. We stayed from June 7 through June 16 in our 44-foot toy hauler, and from the moment we arrived we felt genuinely welcomed. Debby, the park manager, met us when we pulled in and guided us to our site, even helping us get perfectly lined up. Since we spend most of our time boondocking, pulling into RV park sites isn’t something we do often, and her patience immediately put us at ease. One thing we noticed right away was how much pride is taken in the property. The sites are roomy, the grass and flowers are beautifully maintained, and everything is clean without feeling overly strict or commercial. It has a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in. The camp store quickly became one of our favorite little stops. It stocks those forgotten necessities every RVer eventually needs, plus cold drinks, ice cream, and, to my surprise, even calamine lotion. After a few mosquito bites, I understood exactly why they keep it on the shelf. What made this stay so memorable, though, was the staff. Every question we had, from finding a great dinner spot to locating the best place to buy filets for the grill, was answered with a smile. Even the fellow campers were friendly, often stopping to chat or wave as they walked by. That sense of community is something you don’t find everywhere. When we pulled out, we were already talking about when we could come back. In fact, we’ve already decided our next visit will be in one of the cabins around Christmas. If a place has you planning your return before you’ve even unpacked at home, that’s a pretty good sign you’ve found something special.

Beautiful and quiet adult oriented RV park nestled into the pine trees. Be sure to bring your food supplies, as there is not much close as you are 30 minutes from any real grocery or supplies. Beware the mosquitoes, they are thick and thirsty. But we would definitely come back if our travels take us this way again.

We stayed at the Loft apartment and it was so relaxing! The view was great and having a freestanding fireplace made it comfortable and it felt like home. The space was well furnished and super clean. Beds were so comfortable. The space was uncluttered. We didn't spend much time enjoying the RV park but did notice a gameroom and laundry room on our evening walk. We felt very safe. It was quite a surprise to wake up to a gentle snowfall after rafting the previous day.

What a beautiful and peaceful place to stay! We didn't realize how far out of Bayfield it actually was, but it was such a nice surprised. We went at the peak of fall and it was incredible! We will definitely be booking another stay here :)

Spent 2 days here in September - great campground - staff was the best. We need someone to install a new water pump - their recommendation was able to be here with in our stay, replace the water pump so we could continue on our way. Showers & Bathrooms were clean and Hot! Washer & Dryers were also great. Location was remote, but easy to get too. This was the perfect place to reset 1/2 way through a 32 night trip.

Once again the Blue Spruce RV Park and their staff totally blew us away. The camping spots are excellent, the restrooms were always clean and fresh, the showers were incredible and the other campers were so very nice and friendly. Plus, to mention it's definitely a dog community and you would not know that by walking around. There are so many activities provided and things for kids and adults to do. They went out of their way to make you feel at home and keep that place clean. Can't wait to come again, thanks for everything 😃🤗🥰

Perfect name, close to perfect RV park! This park is nestled up against a wooded cliff and filled with towering magnificent spruce, almost at the end of the road. It is managed by wonderful staff and friendly people. We have found it difficult to find full service RV parks with roomy sites in Colorado surrounded by nature near fun things to do - and this one is as close as we’ve found. Near enough to get into all that touristy Durango offers but in the beauty of the Rockies. We will be returning and highly recommend!

On arrival with our RV and asking our travel plans, they with great wisdom suggested a rout change to avoid dangerous weather. We were so grateful for their humble suggestion and concern for us. Thank you!!

Wonderful customer service, the staff is very thoughtful. I called ahead to make a reservation, and we arrived after hours and found our site details hanging on the bulletin board. The bathroom and shower area was perfect with plenty of room to get ready. The bathroom was heated, which is always appreciated. It was sweet to see feminine hygiene products and hair products for anyone who may need them provided in the bathroom. Little touches like that make a huge difference. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend camping here.

We absolutely loved our stay at Blue Spruce! We rented the loft apartment and it was spotless and so clean. Even the dish detergent smelled amazing! The cabin was so clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The beds and pillows were so comfy to fall asleep on after our busy days. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The staff take pride in their work and work hard to provide an amazing experience to everyone. Our kids loved all the activities from volleyball, pickleball to hiking. Highly recommend Blue Spruce!

Overall, we had a great time at this RV park. Loved that they had a playground, dog park, and laundry mat. Also the staff was so nice and friendly. The reason for 3 stars is because of our cabin.. the pictures online are VERY outdated. They must have been taken when it was brand new. I have a crawling baby (which is why we reserved a cabin instead of tent camping somewhere) and within 5 minutes her hands, knees, and shins were black from the dirty floors.. there isn’t a mop there or I would have cleaned them myself, so that makes me think they aren’t mopped normally. I swept right away and it was obvious it hadn’t been done prior to our arrival. Also, the kitchen is advertised as “fully stocked.” We had only 2 bowls and 2 huge serving spoons as the only spoons in a cabin that sleeps 4. It also only had small pots, again, not enough to prepare meals for my family without cooking in small batches. It’s a nice place, but I think I wouldn’t take my chances with the cabins again.

Beautiful park. Nice shower facilities. Staff is absolutely wonderful. They had to shut off the water due to the cold and the staff brought out several hoses to link together so I could fill up my tank. Wonderful hikes within walking distance
