There's a fog horn that blares every 10 seconds. It's not a wholly unpleasant sound on its own, but it seems louder at night when things quiet down. Aside from its potential to disturb your sleep if you don't have earplugs, the most annoying thing about it is that it makes distorted perceptions of time very obvious; knowing it's every 10 seconds, but sometimes thinking you're hearing it 2 seconds after it's last blare.

Great campsite, short drive to beaches that allow dogs, bathrooms were clean enough. Taking off two stars because of the fog horn that blares every 10 seconds. Bring earplugs or prepare for a lot of interrupted sleep if you're tent camping.

The showers were not cleaned the whole 4 days we were there and they were filthy. We watched him come in and putter around the bathrooms and leave, not once entering the shower. Other than that it was great, but it is one of the most expensive canpgrounds and really, really dirty showers.

Though this campground is adjacent to Bodega Bay (with no direct access) and about a 1.2+mile walk or bike ride or drive to Bodega Dunes Beach (depending on your campsite) via the park road, it's still a nice place to stay and a convenient location to nearby town and other places to explore. My camper van is "self-contained" - so I cannot comment on condition of toilet facilities, but they were apparently part of scheduled renovations for the campground. Bodega Dunes Campground may not be the most popular first pick for some campers in Sonoma Coast State Park, but I like it.

Wonderful campground with spacious sites, with lots of distance between sites. Avoid the few next to the harbor road due to traffic noise. Firewood can be bought at a couple of sites, and check in was friendly and efficient. To get to the center of Bodega, you need to drive all the way back out to Highway 1 - there's no space for safely riding a bike on that stretch of the highway, but a horse trail cuts from the campground to the harbor frontage road.

One of the most best and most friendly bike in campsites in California. The hot shower is an icing on a cake.

This is one of the nicest campgrounds in No. California. My family has been going here for over 25 years. Its become an annual event. Wonderful campgrounds, facilities, beaches. This year, the weather decided to rain on us, but we still managed to enjoy everything between the bouts of rain.

Great campground with beautiful cypress trees. Recommend the larger loop of sites over the one closer to the day use area, as it has nicer campsites and sandy trails to both the bay and the beach. Did the longer beach trail with kids and it was very doable. Looking forward to coming back.

Lots if things to like about this place. I wanted to update this campground since so many have said the dump station is closed. The dump station is finally open again. There are no dogs allowed on the beach or dunes. There are 3 shower stalls at the bathrooms, however, 2 of the 3 are locked. It also costs 1 dollar for 2 minutes of shower time. The light is on at the bathrooms all night, which shines bright in our windows, so keep that in mind when selecting a spot. It's not an easy walk to the beach. You must climb over a sand dune to get there, so keep that in mind if you have small children or have a disability. Also we have a neighbor who thinks it's really cool to make everyone listen to his choice of music, playing it really loud after quite hours. Don't be like him.

Beautiful views and very clean, the kiddos will love it here. Campsites very in size and topography, when tenting you might have to get creative in tent placement. Several restaurants, stores, and beaches nearby. Gas up before you get here, I haven’t seen one in town yet. 60’s and 70’s during the day and 50’s at night, bring extra blankets and medium weight jackets. Bring plenty of firewood, you’ll truly enjoy hanging around the fire pit. If you like local seafood, you’ll love Bodega Bay.
