Stayed on a Tuesday. 08-19-2025. Only three other campers. Signs on site posts indicated most reservations are for weekends. No hook-ups. Pit toilets. Dumpster. One water spigot with potable water. Camping in the tall pines was nice. Only one night. Didn’t get chance to do the hot spring but would love to come back for a two night stay. No sign on highway. Easy to miss.

Very nice campground! Most spots have plenty of room between them (not sleeping right next to neighbors). Always well maintained. The hot spring itself is pretty big, but the soaking pools aren't very big.

Campground was clean. Not too many trees so if you want plenty of shade I would recommend bringing a canopy. There are Campground host on site. You can make a reservation for campsite online or there are some sites avaliable for first come first serve as well. River nearby with a small "sandy beach". River water was super cold. The hot spring water temperature is not consistent near the river.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds in the area, and sites are actually much easier to get than at Redfish Lake 🙂. The location is in the middle of a rugged and incredibly scenic section of the Payette River middle fork, on the Banks Lowman road. And there's hot springs nearby! It's paved and an easy distance from Boise, so not very quiet, with generators running at any time, sometimes. The hot springs down by the river are small and usually not very busy. Be very careful with the cold water and strong currents in the Payette. It is not suitable for little kids. Two non-smelly pit toilets and two manual water pumps provide services. What are you waiting for?

A beautiful stay for our 31st anniversary. Spent just one night but we'll never forget. Thank you. The door on the line restroom is broken, think the Forest service could fix that.

It's up a little higher and was a bit warm for the first part of the night in July. There are trees but there's an open feel at the camp ground. It has a couple outhouses. There are no water hookups for trailers but there is a water pump you can get fresh water at to use. There's a trail down to some hot springs... About a half mile maybe. There's a little waterfall that's warm and some pools to soak in but they are fairly small. The hot springs up at kirkham Hot springs were a nice spot to mix the river water and the warmth of the hot springs. We spent most of a day up there. The mountain views are great along the road.

Pine flats is the best. I love how it's next to the river.

This was a nice little campground. The camp host was super friendly and kept things really clean. There was a huge group of happy/noisy children and he dealt with that situation very diplomatically. He moved the people who were too close and felt bothered by the herd of kids. He got everyone taken care of without any problems.

Nice little campground...easy to get into, busy weekends and holidays. Simple, pit toilets, water (by hand pp) available...all hooked up to a lucious hit springs. National Forest operated w/ excellent CG Hosts. Highly recommend!

The campground is actually closed as of April 9th 2021 I'm hoping they'll reopen it soon it looks like it's just closed because of fallen trees. People were still parking at the gate and walking a little extra to use the springs for the day. It's about 3/4 mile from the gate at the top of the hill to the actual hot springs. There are six or seven pools varying in size and temperature most of them are not very deep at all, But they provide a great view and an awesome soaking experience. If the campground is open it is $5 for day use and I believe 15 at night to camp. Dogs are allowed on leashes in campsites but not at Hot springs. If you do decide to go this time of year and walk it is a good idea to bring toilet paper The bathrooms are open but they do not have any in them. ❤️ Have fun

I debated a lot in my head about giving it 3 stars vs 4 stars but because I'm feeling permitting I left 4 stars but it really only deserves 3 stars compared with other Campgrounds, and here are the reasons. First the Pros: - the camp host, Laroue (spelling?) was a darling and very flexible and easy to talk to - there are hot springs half a mile away down the river, so worth taking the trek (not difficult for an adult, but difficult for small children) - there's 2 water pumps at each end of the campground and 2 toilets pretty well stocked with toilet paper (minus the hand sanitizer) Now the Cons: - the campsites, most of them are either really small, RV only and/or not family friendly by being dangerously close to cliffs - the entire campground is slanted at an angle which makes sleeping in a tent difficult - besides the site #19 which is a group site, all the other sites are very small, non-shaded (although on the website they're described differently) - visiting this campground August/September means you'll pretty much be camping in a dangerously unhealthy air quality zone due to the wildfire season, especially somehow so prominent close to Lowman
