The landscape is characterized by its simplicity, offering a horizon that feels endless and untouched by urban sprawl.
Amenities & Park Features
The park provides a variety of camping options to suit different styles, including 14 electrical pads for RVers who require power, along with 40 non-pad sites for a more rustic experience. While the facilities are more basic than a traditional RV resort, guests have access to a convenient dump station and vault toilets. Water enthusiasts will find reliable boat ramps and designated swimming areas to enjoy the reservoir, while nature lovers can explore the shoreline to spot various bird species and local wildlife that frequent the river's edge.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Water-based activities are the highlight here, as the reservoir is widely known for productive walleye fishing and northern pike. Beyond the water’s edge, the surrounding area offers fascinating historical and geological landmarks. Travelers can take a short drive to see the quirky Carhenge in Alliance or head west to explore the prehistoric wonders at Agate Fossil Beds National Monument. The nearby town of Hemingford offers essential amenities, local dining, and a glimpse into the charm of rural Nebraska life.

VERY expensive. $15/day Camping for no hookups AND $14/day "entry fee"?!?!?! No maps. Drove through 3 times looking for $10 "primitive sites". Damned if I could find 1. Definitely would pass by this stop next time.

We did not camp or play here. We just wanted to check it out for a future date. It was very beautiful, seemed well kept and had some unique camping sites. Would definitely come back for a stay.
