Boyd Lake

The staff/volunteers at the gate are wonderful, knowledgeable and kind. Unfortunately, the lake level is very low, but it is still peaceful and beautiful. The grasses are high and rugged and it feels very natural. The grounds are clean and all seems well kept.

Pretty park with nice walking trail around the lake. Unfortunately the water level was way down when we were there.

This park is great for a summer-style day out on the lake, but it doesn’t offer much for hiking or horseback riding compared to other parks. Still worth a visit nonetheless

3 stars as a local spot to bring your dog for a walk. Obviously, Boyd LAKE is a great place for boating and fishing. It also seems like a nice spot for a bike ride; however, you'll be dodging all those bikes quite a bit on foot. There's very little shade and a lot of long, exposed stretches. I still won't rate the park below average just because it doesn't cater to my specific needs. The walking (biking) path is well maintained. Staff is friendly. The bathrooms at the camp ground area require a pass code and there's no trash cans, but there are clean public access bathrooms and trash cans beyond the camp grounds. I live in Greeley and would love a place with a 4+ mile path when I don't have time to drive all the way to Poudre Canyon or something west of Denver. The search continues. Boyd Lake is still a nice place overall.

Lake is low, no ramps probably due to reduce maneuverability in the marina area. I went up to relax on the lake and watch the air show at fort love last weekend. Good views from the lake.

The playground in the campground was awesome for the kids. Nice walking trails for the dogs. Sites in the older area are really close together. Recommend the newer campground if you want a little more space. The lake was low when we went in May.

Tight fit, busy local recreation area. Pros: Beautiful walking and bike trails. Nice laundry and shower facilities. Cons: super tight pull through sites. Most will not accommodate a 32 foot rig and tow vehicle. Roads are very rough inside the park. No directional signs when entering so we had to circle around 3 times to find water and figure out how to get into our site. “Waterfront” classification is deceptive. You can’t even see the water and are at least 200 yard walk to lake. Worst part is that the local swim beach and boat ramp are accessed through the same gate as campground. Weekend visitation to the beach was incredibly busy. When returning to our campsite on a Sunday afternoon,, we were stuck in an hour long traffic jam trying to get into the campground. Very poor design. Leaving a day early, just not happy here.

We stayed at the RV spots at Boyd Lake over a weekend. The spots were a little close together but not as close together as some places we’ve been to. I’ll try to add photos before we head out. Being by the water has been nice. Not sure we were at the “beach” but it was more muddy than sandy.

We stay here frequently. Great park. Has a rental shop where you can rent paddle boards, boogie boards, etc. I believe there is also the ability to rent different types of boats. This is one of my favorite Colorado state parks. Because it is within the Loveland city limits, I believe that the park gets sprayed for mosquitos and so they aren’t rampant there like they are elsewhere, for example, Jackson Lake.

It's a fun time I enjoy myself out there in my little I've shack trying to catch a good fish ..too bad a sexy female angler could show me a few holes. The water 💦 is soo clean

We absolutely love this lake. It’s well kept, well stocked, and well managed. We feel safe here, and love all the different options of activities. You can fish, swim, ride bikes or scooters, there’s a playground, and more!!! They have a nice store/concessions stand as well.

First time here, and I'll definitely be back. Got some great captures of the sunrise over the lake, but I'm positive it's even more beautiful in Spring/Summer, when everything is alive and green! One thing I noticed is that the restrooms are actually heated - How cool is that? I'm new to NOCO, and enjoying my experiences so far!

Very nice location for water activities. The campground was good too, though all the sites didn't have shade. Clean toilets and free showers, reviews indicating paid showers were probably old? Beautiful views of mountains right from the campground. Biking/walking trail which is right by the campground can be turned into a 22 mile loop if you wish.
