Brewster River Campground
It is impossible to capture on a computer screen the beauty and serene atmosphere of this campground’s riverside setting, nestled in the mountains. The waterfall and swimming hole, the group campfire site in the open field, and the peaceful flow of the river must be experienced in person.
Stretching along the scenic Brewster River, this campground provides a delightful retreat for those looking to relax and reconnect with nature. Guests can enjoy the tranquil sights and sounds of the river, highlighted by a stunning 20-foot waterfall. On clear nights, the absence of city lights reveals a breathtaking display of stars, while mid-summer evenings bring the magical glow of fireflies in the meadow. Many visitors have reported experiencing their best sleep in years while staying here.
The campground features 13 riverside tent sites, 4 lawn sites, 1 wooded site, as well as a fully-equipped Loft, a fully-equipped Cottage, a rustic cabin, and a lean-to. Accommodating approximately 125 campers across 20 acres, each campsite includes private river access, a picnic table, a fire pit, and parking. A communal lawn area with a central fire pit serves as a gathering space for activities, music, stargazing, and events. Depending on availability, some lawn sites may be booked. Guests can enjoy swimming and hiking along the river, exploring the waterfall and cave, nearby kayaking and tubing, and easy access to Smugglers’ Notch, just a two-minute drive away. To maintain a peaceful nature experience, large RV motorhomes are not permitted, though smaller RVs, camper vans, pop-ups, and trailers are welcome (note: no RV hookups are available).
The surrounding area offers abundant opportunities for outdoor activities. The Long Trail is accessible from multiple nearby locations, including routes leading to the summit of Mt. Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak. Horseback riding, fishing, cycling, and canoeing or kayaking on the Lamoille River are also available within the region, making this campground an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

The campground is located in a beautiful and quite area. Even arriving at night, it was easy to find our campsite and the washrooms. The site was level and there was enough trees and space from the other sites for some privacy. The facilities were very clean and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Loved that I could not hear none of the neighbors, that the bathrooms and showers were clean, that there was hot water at the kitchen sink, and that wifi worked! The swimhole is priceless. Great spot and well run. Thank you!
