Bridge Lake Provincial Park
Overview
Bridge Lake Provincial Park offers a quiet escape in the heart of British Columbia's famous Fishing Highway. Located within the scenic Cariboo region, this park is celebrated for its crystal-clear water and lush coniferous forests. It provides a peaceful retreat for travelers who appreciate a smaller, more intimate camping environment compared to larger provincial sites. The park maintains a rustic charm that prioritizes the natural beauty of the South Cariboo landscape, making it a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts seeking tranquility and a connection to nature.
Location & Surroundings
Situated on the south shore of Bridge Lake along Highway 24, the park is nestled among rolling hills and mature Douglas fir trees. The surrounding area is defined by the unique Interlakes district, a plateau where hundreds of lakes dot the landscape. Visitors will find themselves immersed in a wilderness environment that feels remote yet remains easily accessible for those exploring the interior of British Columbia. The scenery is dominated by expansive lake views and the silhouettes of several small islands scattered across the water.
Amenities & Park Features
As a provincial park focused on conservation and a traditional outdoor experience, the amenities are simple and cater best to self-contained RVs. The campground features 13 vehicle-accessible sites that offer excellent privacy through dense natural screening. You will find pit toilets and a seasonal hand pump for water, though it is recommended to bring your own potable supply. A major highlight of the facility is the concrete boat launch, which provides easy access for anglers and paddlers looking to navigate the deep, clean waters of the lake.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Fishing is the primary draw at Bridge Lake, which is well-stocked with Rainbow trout and Kokanee. Beyond the water, visitors can explore the nearby Bridge Lake Ice Caves or travel further along the corridor to discover dozens of other recreational sites. The area is also excellent for wildlife viewing; campers often spot bald eagles, loons, and occasionally moose near the shoreline. For those who enjoy hiking, various trails in the surrounding Interlakes area provide varying levels of difficulty and stunning panoramic views of the plateau.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for dry campers and RVers who do not require electrical hookups or modern luxuries. It perfectly suits travelers looking for a quiet fishing retreat or a scenic, low-key stopover while traveling through the Cariboo. Because of its smaller size and natural layout, it is best for those with smaller to mid-sized rigs who value privacy and direct access to the water. It is an excellent match for families and solo travelers who want to disconnect and enjoy a classic BC camping experience.

Great Campground, camped here for a few days and I got beautiful pictures of the sunset on the lake and also the thunderstorm at the end of my visit, great campsite it has lots of camp spots and also double spots for if you have a trailer or bigger party, but there were mosquitos lol, I would visit again though, 8/10 campsite.

We didn't originally plan to stay here but when other plans didn't work out we found enough campsites here. The area is gorgeous, great lake for kayaking etc. Clean campsite with a very helpful and friendly park operator! Check out the nearby Ice Caves Trail for a great easy very interesting hike. There are also stores nearby to pick up anything needed.

We visited the provincial park area for the day - you can easily miss the turn off, so keep your eyes peeled for the signs or follow google maps. Lots of parking and area for a boat launch. Beautiful camp sites with a shared outhouse. Day use area has a few picnic tables and you can walk down the trail and there are a few pictures tables along the walk as well. Water was clean and warm, but lots of lake weeds maybe 15 feet out from the shore. We tried a few different swimming spots, and we found the best area with the least amount of weeds was around the boat launch area. It is a bit soft and muddy, so would recommend wearing water shoes. Not too busy, maybe 7 people swimming on a hot day - people coming and going to swim, boat, canoe, kayak, paddle board - lovely lake overall and would return for a nice swim!
