The park itself is nice . But it could definitely use more attention from maintenance/groundskeepers. The pool is great and I’ve always thought it was cool to be open to the general public for day passes. But I learned camping there where this to me gets messed up, your pool pass is included with your stay . But if the pool is at capacity and mainly because of the day passes. You get screwed . Now for the main part of this review. We got there on a Wednesday evening and we noticed campers on the end were clearly homeless people. And that’s cool we’re not heartless . But because of their situation they should still know how to act and be respectful! So we gotten woke up in the middle of the night a FEW TIMES by their 5 dogs barking and them yelling at the dogs to hush! Yelling cuss words loudly while us and the kids were trying to enjoy our time there. I called and complained about them and the superintendent said they’d have a talk with them. I assume they did. But it didn’t change anything much. Then one of our last nights there they started what sounded like the dogs either got into a fight and or they were beating the hell out of them. We called the ranger and he came pretty promptly and talked to them. He told me he was going to talk to his boss and have them removed . But they didn’t! Although the people toned it down a little more after that, they still cursed across the campground at times and was loud. Then our last night way way way past quiet time until 1 am or so was music from the other direction at one of the campsites towards the office/general store. So if you’re looking for a semi quiet place I can’t say this is it. If you’re looking for a place that disregards their own rules and you like the feel of the trailer park life hearing the hollering cussing and raising hell, then it maybe for you! I hate leaving such a review, but I wished I had known in advanced. If we ever try to stay there again I know to get a site away from the far sites.

The cabins are very nice. The security guard was nice and patient when I know I had to be getting on his nerves being lost and driving around and ' round.

Many historic buildings with plaques discribing the important people and dates. Cabins are available for rent. Country store has a lot of snacks and drinks.

We got more than what we bargained for!! We found a state park to stay at that was close to where we wanted to be. We didn't know that it was a historical state park! We were impressed! I can't wait to see how it comes along.
