Had a great weekend camping @ #briggswoods site 39, located just outside Webster City, Iowa. It's a smaller park, but expanding with both full hookup and primitive camp sites. The bathrooms were clean and well kept, though I didn't use the facilities, my boyfriend did. There are also both primitive and modern cabins. The lake on one side, river on the other provide for all the fishing options. Some paved hiking and also non paved hiking that leads to very pretty water falls. #campinglife #rvlife #campground #iowa #outdoors

Very quiet, well kept little gem of a campground! Very close to the conveniences of Webster City IA. The lake looked great, in which I appreciate to run my rc boats. I assume it's good for fishing also!! My wife and I would definitely return being that it close to home for us, and we appreciate the opportunity for a nice quick getaway from the everyday grind. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

My wife and I were looking for a quiet place to get away for a few days before spending the 4th with family. We found this park online and rented a small cabin. We stayed three nights. We came in after dark and had a little trouble finding our cabin. That's on us, not the facility. The queen futon has a plastic mattress, so we put a blanket down before putting on our sheets. The website said restrooms were close to the cabins and they are. What they don't say is that these are primitive toilets and there are no sinks and no hand sanitizer. This isn't a complaint. Just info for others. Bring a bowl or something to wash your hands in. The modern toilets are only in the shower house. There are sinks there. The distance from our cabin was a little inconvenient, but there's a trail to get to it. We hiked all the trails in the park. They are well maintained. A few trails do not have markers at the start, but they're simple enough to follow. I would recommend the waterfall loop. The paved Boone River Trail also runs through the park and provides an easier adventure for those who don't want to step over tree roots and the like. If you want to kayak on the lake, call one of the hosts. Their numbers are in the folder in the cabins. The hosts have a Gator to haul kayaks to the boat ramp by the swimming area. The fees - $10 for 2 hours in 2025 - are reasonable. The swimming area is small, but adequate. It is a lake, so you have to deal with little bits of seaweed floating around. This lake was fast nicer than many I've been in.

We will return! We didn't get a change to check out the beach but the rustic cabins (not so rustic) are so beautifully situated along the river too! I loved the covered porch overlooking the river as a part of the cabins too. Such great fishing. If you don't mind pit toilets, this place is perfect camping.

A beautiful campground with a variety of sites and services just a few miles outside Webster City. It's definitely at the top of our list of favorites. They have both reserved spaces and first come for those last minute trips. We've been there in the spring, summer, and fall and the views are beautiful regardless of the time of year. There are several different playground areas for the kids. They even have two separate camping circles for groups. All of the spaces have shade and are some of the most spacious we've found in Iowa. There truly is something for everyone.
