A couple of times per year I drive from Toronto to Kingston because our daughter is studying at Queen's, and I've started to appreciate staying overnight rather than driving straight back. But Kingston hotel prices can be crazy on certain Queen's weekends (reading week etc). I've stayed twice now at the Brighton KOA which is an hour west of Kingston and its location just off the highway is great. This time I stayed in one of their bunkies. Cozy and heated, it was a great way to "camp" in October, comfortably. There's a small fridge & microwave, and some storage shelves too. And a BBQ at each unit. The queen-size bed is a murphy bed, so it folded up to give more space.

Excellent Thanksgiving experience, great communication with the staff during booking and they got my family all close together (five sites!) for the holiday. Terrific Halloween trick or treat with the kids, all the parents and children were awesome and well behaved. Great end of season lasagna dinner too, thanks KOA Brighton!

This was our second visit to the Brighton KOA and it did not disappoint! My husband and I had a "Bunkie"-2 beds, small fridge, microwave, electricity, room for storage and has AC! My son and his family were at a lovely trailer site with a patio, near all the amenities. Staff are INCREDIBLE-friendly, helpful, and always smiling-even when dealing with some grumpy people, which we observed. Great activities for the kids. Highly recommend! Shout out to Jackie in the front office-she's the best!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ We visited this KOA last year and loved it, so we returned this year for 6 nights. Unfortunately, this stay wasn’t the same. Positives: Kids loved the outdoor movie nights; we joined for the second movie. Crafts were fun, and the wagon rides were very accommodating. The pool was enjoyable, and staff checked the levels regularly. Young staff members were friendly and kind. The playgrounds are very entertaining for my older children (9, 11, & 14). Our site was very spacious, and we had wonderful, friendly tenting neighbors! Negatives: Washrooms were dirty, and toilet paper was often missing. Staff shortages explained the issue, which we understood. Tent site electricity was unreliable, making it difficult to charge devices or fill air mattresses; no follow-up from the office. There was a dog in a nearby cabin that was consistently left alone. It constantly whined, barked, and lunged at people and other dogs passing by, which was very stressful for our family members who are afraid of dogs. Other campers were also bothered, and one even reported it to the office. At one point, a staff member approached me about the dog while I was busy with my children, and the interaction felt uncomfortable and intimidating, so I didn’t feel safe following up further. This situation significantly affected our peace of mind during the stay. Pool walls had grime, and some guests drew/wrote on them. Overall, there were fun activities and kind staff, but issues with cleanliness, electricity, and the unattended dog affected our experience. We appreciate the staff efforts and may try another KOA location next year.

Do not book a cabin if youre looking for seclusion or peace and quiet or if you're allergic to dust . I dont think the cabins have been swept in a long time. Location is right near the highway which you can hear all day and night. There was also no water for multiple hours which we did not get any compensation for. During our stay, a person walking a dog allowed the dog to approach a man and the dog (Australian shepherd) bit the man so bad he had a hole in his hand and required 9 stitches at the hospital. I saw it it was really bad. The owners of the campsite did not kick this dog out making it difficult to go for a walk or enjoy the camp grounds with my dog (therapy in training) in fear of running into this dog. The whole situation was very scary as the dog was outside on its campsite tied up on a long line unsupervised. Not every kid is going to ask to pet a dog especially if theres nobody around to ask some kids see a fluffy looking dog and approach. Also the pool is not heated and not very big so no matter where you are in the pool you can enjoy being bumped into and splashed by kids. There are 2 showers for females and 2 showers for males for all guests to share. You can expect a lineup. The shower stalls are also conveniently located RIGHT next to the bathroom stall so while youre having a shower you can enjoy the smells from the person taking a 💩 beside you. Pros: has a trampoline for children 5 and under, the parks are large with lots of activities, tractor rides which are pet friendly, crafts and swimming. I do not recommended this site for adults looking for a relaxing time. Too many kids and with the way the owners handled an aggressive dog on the property I also wouldnt recommended this for kids.
