Brownlee Lake Park Resort & Campground

Overview

Brownlee Lake Park Resort & Campground offers a serene escape in the heart of the Algoma District. This family-operated park is situated on the shores of a private freshwater lake, providing a classic Northern Ontario camping experience. Whether you are passing through on a cross-country journey or looking for a seasonal retreat, the park emphasizes tranquility and natural beauty in a well-maintained setting just north of Thessalon.

Location & Surroundings

Located just a few minutes off Highway 17, the park serves as a gateway to the rugged landscape of Northern Ontario. The property is surrounded by dense forests and the calm waters of Brownlee Lake, offering a distinct contrast to the busier corridors of Southern Ontario. Its proximity to the North Shore of Lake Huron allows visitors to enjoy both the intimacy of a smaller inland lake and the vastness of the Great Lakes nearby.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped for modern RVers, featuring full hookup sites with 30-amp service and spacious pull-thru options for larger rigs. Guests have access to a private sandy beach, a boat launch, and excellent fishing opportunities for bass and pike. Essential comforts are provided through laundry facilities and hot showers, while every site includes a picnic table and fire ring for traditional evening campfires under the northern stars.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the park gates, the town of Thessalon offers charming local shops and a full-service marina. Nature enthusiasts can explore sections of the Voyageur Hiking Trail or take a short drive to the Mississagi Delta Provincial Nature Reserve. For those interested in day trips, the scenic drives along the Lake Huron shoreline provide breathtaking vistas and numerous opportunities for photography and birdwatching in the pristine Ontario wilderness.

Who This Park Is Best For

This resort is an ideal choice for family vacationers seeking a safe, water-focused environment for children to play and swim. It also caters specifically to anglers and outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate easy lake access and quiet mornings on the water. Because of its location near the Trans-Canada Highway, it is a perfect stop for long-distance RV travelers looking for a peaceful, high-quality resting point.

What a lovely family campground. So clean and well run. We had a beautiful lake side spot . You can’t go wrong with any spot at the campground really. Clean sandy beach . We would definitely come back

We enjoyed our 1 night here. We stayed right on the lake in our 26 ft rv. Bathrooms are super clean and the resort is run very efficiently. Dorothea, thank you for your hospitality.e did walk the mowed portion of one of your fields this morning. It was beautiful. Thank your husband for us!

We stayed at the Brownlee Lake Campground. It was lovely! The park itself is large with lots of space to walk our dog. We are traveling in a camper van and our site was close to the lake. Our site had full hookups. The washroom/shower facilities were close to our site and clean. We didn’t use the laundry facilities although I peeked into the room and it was clean as well. This campground has a number of seasonal campers however they do not detract; their sites are clean and well maintained. We highly recommend this lovely park.

Fantastic camp site. Quiet and beautiful, with a majestically warm lake. The host was very friendly , and other campers seemed to be respectful of each other. We'd want to come back and stay for a week.

We had a great extended weekend! Very clean washrooms and laundry facilities! The owners are so welcoming and friendly! We had a great pull through site that fit our 29 foot bumper pull perfect! Full hookups with great water pressure!
