2 things. Wonderful staff. Terrible train tracks keeping you up if you’re tenting. The staff was amazing and helpful and kind. I wish the camp was more forwardly helpful in telling you about the train running through at night so at least we can prepare. But got some bad nights of sleep here. But great staff.

We stopped here while riding the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Towpath and decided to stay overnight. Overall, it was a great experience—clean restrooms and a very quiet, peaceful environment. A couple of suggestions for improvement: adding vending machines with essentials like water and snacks for after-hours access would be helpful. Also, the tent area could use some attention—leveling the ground and planting grass would make it more comfortable for campers.

Brunswick Family Campground is a laidback, easygoing spot — perfect if you're looking to relax, grill, go water tubing, or kayak along the Potomac River. However, it can get pretty crowded, and the setting doesn’t feel as deeply immersed in nature as I personally prefer. If you're looking for a social, riverfront camping experience, it's a great choice. If you want solitude and wilderness, you might want to look elsewhere.

We have a small motorhome and occasionally stop at BFC to empty our tanks. The campground is always very clean and well maintained. As always, the staff was very friendly, helpful & kind. We will continue to go there & look forward to camping there this season!!

We stayed full time in our RV for almost a year. It was honestly an outstanding experience as we were first time RVers and had a lot to learn. Take my experience with a grain of salt as we lived and commuted from here. First of all, read the reviews. Yes, the train can be a nightmare. The sounds can be horrifying. We personally got used to the noise pretty quickly but there was an adjustment period. The staff are incredible - so helpful, kind, and available for emergencies at any time of day. The bathrooms were always clean when we needed them. The campground is beautiful during all seasons. There are a few full-time sites open in winter and it was the most peaceful experience being there practically alone. The town is beautiful and there are plenty of nice restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The C&O trail is amazing and it was so enjoyable to walk my dog every day. We often saw deer, fox, and all kinds of critters. The music of spring peepers is also incredible. There is so much I could say and much that I'm forgetting, but this place will always be home to us and we are eternally grateful for our time there. The worst thing about this campground was not their fault: The crazy delays due to road blockage by the train. I was late to work many times, or would come home from a hard nursing shift to an hour long wait to get "home". We were stuck by the train, with no way out, so many times. The average wait time was 30min to an hour. The most frustrating thing: the train would often just stop, not move, and even go forward and backward over and over before moving along. It is a train yard after all. BUT, there is so much positive and it was 100% worth it.

We came here to rent bikes and bike on the C & O Canal Towpath. The bikes could use some maintenance and quality control. Some bikes had adjustable seats, and others did not. There were newer bikes and older bikes. My bike had an adjustable seat, but the parts were corroded so I couldn't move the seat up or down anyway. My chain also slipped off toward the end of the ride, but I was also able to get it back on. My bike also didnt have a chain guard, but not sure if it had one before or if it would help anyway. All the bikes had wide, curved handlebars I believe. The employees were nice, but I would've also appreciated some guidance for choosing a bike. I had not biked since a long time, but I also didn't want to eat up time by trying out many bikes. But after I rode for 4 hours, I could tell that the bike fit was pretty important for comfort and enjoyment of the ride. You also want to make sure you don't injure yourself from a non-fitting bike! But overall, for the price and being located directly on the C&O Canal, this was a decent place to rent bikes from.

This is a wonderful campground if you're biking the C & O Canal trail or visiting Harpers Ferry or Antietam Battlefield or even Gettysburg Battlefield. So much to see within an hours drive. The campground itself has very basic services (water & 30 amp electric) but the location is good. Be aware that you will hear some noise from the train tracks and switching yard, but turn on your white noise machine for a restful nights sleep.

Nice shady sites. Lots of green areas. Right on the Potomac.
