Thoroughly enjoyed our camping stay with one exception, big deal.. everything was gorgeous and beautiful until the ranger came to check our stub at our camp spot. Its an honor system and we had paid. But he was suspicious and rude while we were cooking brkfst and informed us to move our tent off the soft part of the camp spot to onto the gravel which was very uncomfortable to sleep on and said that our motorcycle was considered as to many vehicles because we had 2 cars there. The proceeded to ride by our campsite in excess of 5 times while we were present and not hiking. The ranger presence is disturbing and disrupted the peacefulness we were seeking by camping here. Will not visit this area again because I felt harassed.. such a shame because its so gorgeous..

We like Brushy. It’s quiet and peaceful but the past two times we’ve came, the bathroom sinks are out of order so that’s why only 4 stars. We hiked the trail a couple months ago and then came back to camp. No one wants to go to the bathroom and not be able to wash their hands so please get that fixed, other than that, great little recreation area. Primitive camping is nice with grill fire pits and picnic table at each spot. watch out for snakes, we saw a big water moccasin around the fishing dock. There is no public water access and no showers. So bring lots of water and wet wipes or your own shower setup. Bathrooms on tent side are just like an outhouse situation with no sinks. Bathrooms on trail side have flushing toilets and are supposed to have sinks with running water but as stated, they’ve been out of order for a while.

Great place to camp. Very peaceful, beautiful and very reasonable rates. Gets very busy on weekends so I recommend arriving on a weekday if you want a spot. We loved it and the little lake is beautiful

Beautiful small campground just inside the Bankhead National Forest. I only had one neighbor about 4 sites down. This was the perfect overnight stay on my way to Arkansas from Tennessee. Only $5 to camp and located along a watershed so plan for bugs. The sounds of nature were very peaceful. Each site has a grill fire pit and a picnic table with designated tent pads

The camp grounds where nice but, the people next to us where horrible. They didnt watch their kids and that is not the camps fault. Definitely will go back but just will not camp by that many people. We got marriee there 9 years ago and we love brushy lake! Brings back such wonderful memories!

We camp here every year. It's beautiful in Bankhead Forest. We're going back soon and this time we'll look for waterfalls. I just love waterfalls

We absolutely loved this place...the water was not working while we were there, but they were looking for the break in the line...bathrooms were satisfactory...very quiet and patrolled once a day by park authorities or local law enforcement...nice hiking trails and kayak access(beware if you climb the mountain...top is infested with ticks)but is a beautiful walk in the woods...snakes on the damn(dont let your kids play down there) We love it and hope to be back one day...we put painted rocks all around the trails...so go find them and enjoy your time in this beautiful place...🧙‍♂️

Great quiet place for the whole family! Campground is quiet. The trails are beautiful. No cell service and if you venture into the woods, beware of ticks. We were told no bears but timber rattlers and wild hogs but we saw no signs of either when we walked deep into the woods.

Be aware of the poison ivy. The sites were pretty decent for tent camping. Take the paved path to the dam.
