Bryce Canyon Pines Campground

Overview

Bryce Canyon Pines Campground offers a classic, rustic retreat located just a short drive from the entrance of one of the most iconic landscapes in the American Southwest. This site provides an authentic camping experience that keeps travelers close to nature while maintaining proximity to the essential comforts of a well-regarded local diner. It is designed for those who value a peaceful atmosphere and quick access to the main park gates, serving as a reliable base for adventurers exploring the hoodoos and high-altitude forests of southern Utah.

Location & Surroundings

Situated directly along Highway 12, this campground sits in a prime location for travelers exploring the scenic byway. The surroundings are defined by towering ponderosa pines and open high-desert meadows that capture the unique spirit of the Bryce Canyon region. Because of its elevated position, guests can expect cool, refreshing mountain air during the summer months, providing a pleasant escape from the heat often found in the lower-lying areas of the state.

Amenities & Park Features

The campground focuses on providing the fundamentals necessary for a comfortable stay in a scenic setting. Visitors will find full hookup sites available, ensuring that RVers have the convenience of water, sewer, and electricity readily accessible after a long day of hiking. The grounds are kept simple and tidy, emphasizing an outdoor-centric experience rather than high-end resort glitz. Guests also benefit from access to an on-site restaurant, known for its homestyle meals and famous homemade pies.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw is the proximity to Bryce Canyon National Park, where visitors can easily access major trailheads like Navajo Loop or Queens Garden. Beyond the park borders, the surrounding Dixie National Forest offers endless opportunities for scenic drives, photography, and wildlife spotting. Whether you are interested in stargazing under dark desert skies or tackling the winding roads of the nearby Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, the campground acts as an ideal launching point for outdoor exploration.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is best suited for outdoor enthusiasts and independent travelers who prioritize location over extensive resort-style amenities. It is an excellent choice for hikers, photographers, and road trip adventurers who want to spend their days exploring the trails rather than hanging around the campsite. If you prefer a quiet, low-key environment where the focus remains squarely on the natural beauty of Utah, this campground will likely fit your travel style perfectly.

Excellent customer service! Missy and Scooter are wonderful hosts, very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Our RV site was beautiful, fully equipped, and peaceful. The restrooms and showers were sparkling clean with plentiful hot water! And there's laundry facilities. Everything the road-weary traveler needs!

Booked through an app and got stuck at a tent site right next to the highway - super noisy and not what we expected. The address listed in the app was wrong, which made finding the place frustrating, and there was no potable water at any of the tent sites even though it was advertised. Tried to switch sites, but the check-in counter said we had to contact the host. The phone number just looped us back to guest services and then right back to the same counter. They told us to email the host but admitted we probably wouldn’t hear back. Pretty frustrating setup when there’s clearly availability. Between the wrong address, no water, highway noise, and unresponsive host, I wouldn’t recommend this campground.

We reserved a campsite for 5 nights. The site we had was large with shade and trees. It was nice and well maintained. The negative about the site is we kept smelling a septic smell. We decided to leave a day early and spoke to staff about a refund. We made this request 24 hours before we wanted to leave. The is no cancellation/refund policy on their website, on their confirmation email or their general info park rule sheet they hand out. None of their employees or even the manager we talked with knew the "policy". We were told a week, 3 days, 48 hours. Then it's 48 hours. Humm. We liked the campground, but the whole refund request left a bad taste. It would have been different if they had a written policy "somewhere".

Great campground for visiting Bryce. It’s only about a 10 min drive to the park. There are plenty of trees, full hookup, a bathhouse with showers and laundry facilities. It’s also nice to have the gas station and camp store right there. And the staff were super friendly. I’ll be going back here!

Quiet, safe, lots of spots shaded, close to Bryce entrance, full hook-ups, good for children and pets. Love the trees and grass! The office is also a little grocery store which helped us stock up on a few things we need. Very nice office staff. We felt very safe here.
