Buena Vista KOA Journey
A Basecamp, An Oasis, A Gateway to Adventure
Our campground is continuing with renovations at this time. We are open, however, site availability may be limited due to these renovations. We also may experience intermittent water outages, power outages, or have special instructions to follow as we are renovating many aspects of our campground.
The view from your campsite at this KOA is buena indeed - a panorama of five 14,000-foot-plus peaks framing this mountain valley. Tucked among rocks and shaded by pinon pines, the campground is a few miles southeast of the small resort town of Buena Vista and a mile from the Arkansas River.
Hike or bike on public land adjacent on three sides of the KOA. Your hosts can help you arrange for a wide variety of other pursuits - such as rafting, fishing, ATVing, jeeping and soaking in hot springs - or direct you to hiking trails, ghost towns and rock hounding sites.
At the KOA, play pool, air hockey, basketball and horseshoes. Or enjoy this quiet and tranquil setting around our new communal fire pit.

This place was so quiet and peaceful! The cabins don’t have bathrooms or water, but they offer plenty of amenities to make up for it! The cats in the lounge/laundry area really made me feel at home lol. The view from our front porch was AMAZING! I’d definitely return.

Ive stayed here at BV Overlook many times over the last 4 years, and it is always a great experience. The hub (main lounge area) has a cozy fireplace, several streaming options for a fun movie night in, and complimentary coffee and tea. The view from the cabins is breathtaking and never gets old no matter how many times I stay here. The staff has always been kind, warm, and super responsive. I will consistently keep coming back here & will keep sharing the word about this wonderful place with my friends.

I got a tiny house and it was more than needed! The amenities were great. The tiny house had its own bathroom but there was also plenty more showers available in the area. There is a game room and a dog park available to let your dog run free. The views are amazing there. Definitely recommend. Staff was friendly and very helpful. It is also near a lot of great things.

Incredible views of the Collegiate Peaks mountains from this campground. Located just outside of town on a hillside. Beautiful surroundings. The campground has many different outdoor seating options, play and grilling areas to enjoy. The staff person who helped us get settled (Theresa) was very kind, informative and helpful. Our pull-through site was level- easy in & out for a one night stay.

Perfect late fall get away, the cabin was comfortable and warm with the blankets provided - didn’t need the space heater. The common room had anything we needed for an easy meal heat up. The restrooms were spotless, warm and showers were clean and warm. Will be back again - thanks for a fun getaway
