Great little campground. Isolated sites for the most part. Dump station was out of service for RV. We use a macerator to the pit toilet. Camp host was amazing.. Mr Garth gets five stars. No phone receptions at the campsite. Walk to "phone Hill" for reception and sunsets. No power hook ups plenty of sun for solar usage. Most camp.siyes are short check Google Earth for dubble pads for larger RVs ...same price.

Really nice campground in national grasslands. Access to potable water, flush toilets and warm showers. All for just 20 dollars a night. Well maintained and we were greeted by a friendly and helpful camp host. Easy to access by short drive off of interstate. There was some highway noise but not too bad. Beautiful views and sunset. Very close to Theodoore Roosevelt National Park.

Stayed here for two nights, July 3rd & 4th, 2025. Had originally wanted to stay in or near the nearby Theodore Roosevelt National Park. So glad I found Buffalo Gap Campground!! It’s quiet, very well maintained, clean bathrooms and hot showers, and big sites for RV’ers. I highly recommend!

Campground is really nice. Well laid out amongst the rolling hills. Definitely would recommend the location as the surrounding area has much to offer. My only reason for the low rating is an admin issue and how the (I assume) host dealt with it. We pulled in late at night last night (on the 3rd of July) and used the "pay post" with cash in the envelope system. We found the site we wanted, entered the info on the envelope (as we've done many times at other locations, all the same) and wrote down the site, #2. We did think it was a little odd that there was a shed behind the site, but we've stayed at much stranger sites in campgrounds 😂. When we woke up this morning I was packing up to leave while my son was walking the dogs and the (again I assume) host approaches. From a distance he says, "you can't stay here". I politely said, "excuse me?". He said slightly agitated sounding, "this isn't a site". I stated that it had a site number on a post that only mentions no horses. He then explained in a disgruntled manner that it's even blocked on the website for reservations and repeated a few more times that I needed to leave as I was ACTIVELY QUITE VISIBLY packing up my vehicle. Then I said, "that's what I'm doing. We used the cash pay tube. There's no mention of site #2 not being used as a site and there's nothing on the post or site itself to state that." He just reiterated that I need to leave as he was walking away also mentioning something about my dog's which were in the car. I didn't hear what he said about them because at that point I was frustrated and just trying to get out of there, but we adheared to every rule. Great campground, but Buffalo Gap...I suggest you do better with your instructions and signage paying attention to ALL people. Not just those that reserve online.

It was a nice stay during our trip across country. The sites are very clean and nice and the road is well maintained. The host was nice and the view at the top of the little hill was stunning. It wasn’t too far off the interstate though so there was some noise from the road. Mostly quiet though and during the late night wasn’t too bad other than the occasional semi. Water was close by our campsite. My only complaint was that the bathroom near us was closed so we had to use the pit toilets all the way at the front of the loop. Sucks when you have the furthest site away making it a bit of a walk. The only trash bin was up front too so we had to hike it there or drive up to it on our way out. Otherwise not a bad place to stop just outside the National Park.
