I really wanted to like this place. We were staying for 3 nights. The day rate is really high, almost doubled the cost for our camp site. I noticed a literal knife left on the table at our campground, and a fishing lure. We had to clean up instantly to make it safe for kids. My son noticed many things at the playground broken, wheels missing so the screws are just exposed, there was trash everywhere. A lot that is wanting some TLC, but reason for review is Friday night, a group of campers were partying way past quiet hours till like 2 am with talking and loud music. My husband said he saw someone came and talked to them but nothing changed. All the rules they send out I really don’t get it. We came here for my son’s birthday weekend and don’t plan on coming back to this campground. Update: What’s worse is we found out the camp host was supposedly right next to them. We came camping with my son and 2 month old and have never had campers so rude, ppl even asking them to keep it quiet. It only improved the second night, the host would drive away and they would turn the music up again. When we got back that evening it was finally quiet.

Great place to enjoy water activities! I took my 22' sailboat there and enjoyed 2 days of relaxing fun. Greg at Mesquite Cove Marina was very friendly and helpful! We will definitely visit this lake again!

We took our food truck out to the lake this weekend for the fireworks show. We had awesome customers! The fireworks were awesome as always.

This is a great place to go and hang out for the weekend. Great people that live here at the lake too. Very accommodating and easy going folks.

Giving this 5, but really should be a 4.5 for the little things: It's a private community and residents are coming and going through the private gate along with guests. This should be explained. It has a late check out, so don't arrive too early. Campers take advantage of the 3pm check out. Dump station should be on the park map too. The good stuff: On the lake camping, great sunsets, fishing/swimming/boating from your campsite. Great bike rides and off road trails if you have quads or side by sides. The city is just a few miles away. Downtown is a 15 min drive. Definitely THE place to camp if you're visiting Lubbock, and you can score a reservation. We came in late Oct for great weather and no crowds.

A slice of heaven right in the middle of Wild West Texas! There is so much to do that we would never be able to do it all in one day! I advise a weekend stay! We definitely will be back! Business picked up later in the afternoon so to get a decent spot be sure to get there early! They do not have a lot of picnic tables so if you have a fold up table and are planning to cook out etc you will need it. The water has very low visibility but that’s expected. There were a few food trucks but we brought our own food to cook but know it’s there. No glass is permitted. There was a good amount of trash along the beach that we picked up on arrival so if you’re reading this and you go don’t be those people AND PICK UP YOUR TRASH 🫶🏼

I took my kids there to swim. They have a great beach area designated for swimming. And the marina restaurant was great, nearby, with great tasting food. Excellent menu. We had a wonderful trip.

I'm new to the Texas region when it comes to the bodies of water. I decided on this date to go to this lake as I've never been here. My goal was to observe the area, determine if it would be good fun with the kids. I never made it to the lake, never saw water. The lake requires a fee per person entering. I do not see a need to pay for a public body of water be paid for to measly look. I did not have a boat (which has its own fees above those of the per person fee), and did not have any fishing poles in my vehicle. As a result, I decided to go to a nearby lake that was free access to all and water was visible easily.

This place is a joke. They do not show the accurate price on there website. They wait until you show up and charge you extra per person when there website lets you add people to your reserved spot. Each person has to pay $15 per person per day, Plus you have to pay an extra $20 for you boat per day. This has to be the ultimate scam to get people to go thinking it’s a better deal but in reality they charge you at the gate and well your SOL to pay since your already there. They need to be investigated for hiding there true rates. I hope this helps future families wanting to go here. Lake site isn’t even maintained for these prices.

It's just going downhill. It's fun but kinda ghetto like. Not worth the price.
