Bull Shoals Lake - COE/Beaver Creek

Overview

Beaver Creek Park, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, offers a serene escape on the scenic upper reaches of Bull Shoals Lake. Located near Kissee Mills, this campground provides a classic Ozark experience where the rolling hills meet clear lake waters. It is an ideal destination for those who want to disconnect from the hustle of daily life and immerse themselves in a peaceful lakeside setting defined by natural beauty and quiet evenings under the stars.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks, the park lies along the Beaver Creek arm of the lake. The terrain is characterized by rugged limestone bluffs and dense hardwood forests that come alive with color during the autumn months. Because it is tucked away from the main highway, the air is still and the surroundings are exceptionally private. The proximity to the White River ensures a diverse ecosystem that attracts local wildlife, including bald eagles and white-tailed deer.

Amenities & Park Features

The park provides a variety of campsites, many of which feature electric hookups for RV travelers. Essential facilities include a high-quality concrete boat ramp, which serves as a central hub for activity, as well as drinking water, vault toilets, and a dump station. Families often appreciate the on-site playground and the well-spaced sites that offer plenty of room for outdoor setups. Most sites provide easy access to the shoreline, making it simple to transition from camp life to lake life.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Fishing is the primary draw here, as Bull Shoals Lake is legendary for its largemouth bass and trout populations. Boaters and kayakers can explore miles of winding shoreline and secluded coves directly from the park. For a change of pace, the bright lights and live shows of Branson, Missouri, are just a short drive away, offering a perfect day trip for dining and shopping. Nature lovers can also explore the nearby trails of the Mark Twain National Forest for additional hiking opportunities.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is a premier choice for avid anglers and boaters who prioritize direct water access and a quiet atmosphere. It is also perfect for budget-conscious RVers who enjoy the rustic charm of COE campgrounds over high-priced private resorts. If you value natural scenery, dark night skies, and a slower pace of life, Beaver Creek provides the perfect backdrop for your next Missouri camping adventure.

Camp sites are clean, bathroom/shower facilities were well maintained and clean. Our only complaint was that we booked site 35 because it stated on the website and the app that it was in full shade. It was not. Apparently the tree that shaded that particular camp site was cut down. IT IS IN FULL SUN. Also, bring an extra long water hose, the spigot is a little far away.

Shower house is clean and functional. Bring two water hoses and a pressure regulater if you're camping here as the water spickets are aways from the camp spots and the pressure is very high. It blew my flush valve instantly. Imo the spots on the hill have the best view and most shade.
