Bull Shoals Lake - COE/Lakeview Park
Overview
Lakeview Park, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, offers a serene gateway to the massive Bull Shoals Lake in northern Arkansas. This well-maintained campground provides a scenic vantage point near the Bull Shoals Dam, blending rugged Ozark beauty with essential modern conveniences. It is a preferred destination for travelers who appreciate quiet evenings and immediate access to one of the cleanest lakes in the United States, providing a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the small community of Lakeview, AR, the park is nestled within the heart of the Ozark Mountains. Its unique geography places visitors at the threshold of two aquatic worlds: the deep, clear waters of the lake and the cold, trout-filled currents of the White River just below the dam. The surrounding area is characterized by dense hardwood forests and limestone bluffs, providing a lush, shaded backdrop for every campsite in the park.
Amenities & Park Features
The campground features spacious sites primarily equipped with electric hookups and easy access to community water spigots. Boaters will appreciate the on-site launch ramp, which facilitates quick entry into the water for a day of exploration or water sports. Families can enjoy the designated swimming beach and playground area, while practical needs are met by the centrally located dump station and accessible shower facilities that cater to long-term stays.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Anglers flock to this region for world-class fishing, targeting trophy bass in the lake or record-breaking trout in the tailwaters. A short drive leads to the James A. Gaston Visitor Center, which offers panoramic views of the dam and educational exhibits on local history. For those looking to explore underground, the nearby Bull Shoals Caverns provide a fascinating look at ancient geological formations and subterranean streams within a cool, cave environment.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal match for dedicated anglers and boating enthusiasts who prioritize immediate proximity to the water. It also serves as a wonderful retreat for families looking for a classic, rustic camping experience without the bustle of a commercial resort. If you value a peaceful natural setting and the rhythmic sounds of the Ozark wilderness, Lakeview Park offers the perfect lakeside escape for your next RV trip.

Beautiful campground. Great prices. Friendly people.

This place is less than 2 miles from Bull Shoals State Park. It has big sites and very well kept. Lots of squirrels and birds. The people running it were very nice. Not all sites are by the water, but this place makes up for it with its charm. It has a marinara with a store that sells food and beer. Campsites do have electric and water, but no sewer. They do have a dump station.

My Family had a wonderful time! Sadly not everyone caught a fish like my brother In-law here. 🤨 But damn it J♡HN sure did try! 😊 The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Plenty of hot water with good pressure. Its less than two miles from a Dollar General and 15-20 mins to a walmart. They do good spacing out rented lots between customers. And the water looked clean with designated swimming areas. Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stayed in the c24, c25, and c26 which is a triple site for a group. Loved the location, each pad had electric hookup, however, there was only one spigot for the three campsites. Kinda disappointed in that since all other sites in the park had their own water hookups per RV. Lots of trees so you do have shade at certain times of the day. Bring canopies though because picnic tables are not covered like all the other tables have. I feel that for a group site, the water thing was really important and there is need for more than one hookup. We just bought a water hose piece that splits into two lines. All in all, tons of room, bathrooms were air conditioned, and while the lake is still flooded they do try to accommodate you for a swim beach and boat ramp.
