Bull Shoals Lake - COE/Tucker Hollow

Overview

Tucker Hollow Park, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, offers a serene lakeside escape on the Arkansas side of the massive Bull Shoals Lake. Nestled within the rolling hills of the Ozarks, this campground is a favorite for those seeking a balanced mix of natural beauty and essential comforts. It provides a peaceful alternative to busier resort areas while maintaining high standards for cleanliness and accessibility for visitors.

Location & Surroundings

Situated near Lead Hill, AR, the park is defined by its rugged shoreline and crystal-clear water. The surrounding Ozark landscape creates a lush, green backdrop that changes dramatically with the seasons. Travelers will find themselves immersed in a landscape characterized by limestone bluffs and deep oak-hickory forests, making it a prime spot for observing local wildlife like white-tailed deer and bald eagles in their natural habitat.

Amenities & Park Features

The campground features several sites equipped with electric hookups, catering to modern RVers who want to maintain power while enjoying the outdoors. Essential facilities include:

  • A convenient dump station and drinking water.
  • Vault toilets for camper use.
  • A full-service marina and paved boat ramp for easy water access.
  • Dedicated picnic areas and a playground for families.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Fishing is the primary draw here, with the lake being world-renowned for its black bass and walleye. Beyond the water, visitors can explore the nearby Peel Ferry, which is the last permanent cable ferry in Arkansas. A short drive takes you to the Bull Shoals-White River State Park for more exploration. Hiking trails in the vicinity offer panoramic views, while the clear depths attract scuba divers from across the region.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for boating enthusiasts and anglers who want to wake up just steps from the water. Because it offers a more rustic, nature-focused atmosphere than a commercial resort, it is perfect for families and retirees looking for a quiet retreat. If you appreciate spacious campsites and the unique charm of the Ozark Mountains, Tucker Hollow provides a stellar home base for your next Arkansas adventure.

The location is nice, however they’re still requiring a fee to enter for the day, and have all the bathrooms closed and locked up. Not sure what the fee is for during early fall if no one is present, and everything is locked up.

Clean quiet COE campground with Marina and boat ramp within walking distance . Great access to the lake and no where near as busy as other places . Water and power hookups at sites , dump station available . Nearest town is about 11 miles away so get what you needs before driving down . Marina store is well stocked but expect Marina prices . We will be back through here again . Stayed in site 14, plenty of shade ..

Could be a great place. The lake was flooded so we actually did not get to enjoy it

Looks like a nice place to camp. Water and electric hookups only, no sewer. Nice boat landing. Campground is closed however due to Coronahoax.
