Arkansas has the best state parks. Well manicured park with a lot to see and do. A must go and see. Dip your toes in the cold water of the white river. Walk the park, have a picnic. Camp, hike , fish, rent a boat, just hangs out under the stars. They have a pavilion for large family gatherings. Playground, basketball goal. so much to see and do in this park.

Having never been to Arkansas I was blown away by how friendly everyone here was. This park was incredible. It checks all the boxes for an incredible vacation. They have rv parking backing right up to the White river. Nothing better than listening to the water flow by. This park has an Amphitheater a trout dock and store. You can rent small boats and kayaks here. For the fishermen there is Gaston's fly shop adjacent to the park and a nice restaurant. You can schedule a guided fishing trip. I myself booked a 4 hour trip and caught 14 rainbows and 1 nice brown trout. There were eagles and buzzards flying overhead and a blue heron rookery with 7 nests full of chicks. There's even a basketball court and playground for the kids There’s the Gaston wildflower garden area and trail and a 3 mile mtn bike trail. What a phenomenal destination. I loved it so much here I decided to move from my mountain town in Colorado to here. Purchasing a home just 3 minutes from Bull Shoals resevoir. I can't wait to make this place my new home.

We visited this park for 4 nights in mid-May. Having stayed in many state, national, and private parks in about 30 States over the last 40 years, Bull Shoals State Park is our number one favorite park. Very friendly people, inexpensive, beautiful scenery along the river, great fishing, good hiking and an extremely well-managed park. It is the only park that we've been in that has 4 private bathrooms on one end of the campground next to camp site 87. These very large bathrooms measure approximately 10x13 ft. (See photos attached.) That's at least twice the size of a Marriott hotel bathroom and five times bigger than a typical RV bathroom. They were always clean and well appointed. Many of the RV sites are right on the river for great views with full hookups when needed. Even the sites not directly on the river are only 200 ft away from the water. The tent sites are the furthest away but even then they're only a one minute walk to the river and located in the tree shaded area, which is nice when it's really hot out. Our T-Mobile phones had powerful connections ranging between 3 and 5 bars. The sites are well spread out especially if you get one row away from the river. It's also fun to sit by the river in one of the picnic areas and watch the water rise and fall from the dam just up the river. The on-site store posts the schedule for the water release so you can be there to watch it rise and fall by two to ten feet in just a few hours. Sand bars appear and disappear in just a few minutes. The only negative we found was the hiking trails are not as well marked as they should be. While you're unlikely to get lost you can sometimes go for a 100 to 200 yards without seeing a single trail marker. These need to be refreshed to make it easier to hike them. Even so, the “big bluff hiking trail” to a lookout over the river hundreds of feet high is well worth the effort. It was an incredible view. Surprisingly, there were no insects biting us the whole time we were there. We believe the rapidly flowing river did not allow mosquitoes to breed as in many other locations with still water lakes. Overall, we would rate our experience at 5 stars.

We have stayed at every summer for the last three years. The park has always been well maintained and the staff friendly. We stay here for a canoe race that happens every July. The boys love floating down the river. The guys have taken fishing trips. We’ve also gone swimming at the lake. The campsites by the river can hear the river flowing and feel the coolness coming off the water when the dam is flowing.

I absolutely love it here, it's so peaceful and relaxing. The grounds are kept very clean, and it's dog friendly which is aist for me. The public restrooms and exceptionally clean, and they have showers on them. 10 out of 10 for sure!

A great place to camp. Along the White river with bpats available to rent at the park marina. Fishing for trout was great. Make your reservation early, they book up!!

This is one of my favorites. Fishing from the water, on boat or land. The bathrooms are clean and nicer than most. There is a cute playground, you can see deer in the feild and there are a couple hiking trails. The beauty of the white river is calming and peaceful.

Great campground. Very clean and staff was great. A few of the sites are right on the river. Bait shop and small store with supplies are within the campground. Arkansas does not have a fee to enter parks and is very reasonable on campsite fees.

Probably the nicest campground I have stayed at. Very well maintained. Had an issue with a guy that parked his boat in the road causing us to scrape a tree going around it. Called the park and a Ranger was on it in like 3 minutes. Several Ranger patrols during the day and night. Very clean area. Staff was over the top friendly and accommodating. Quiet time is quiet time. We will definitely put this on our future getaway trips and recommend kayaking down the White River. A little bit of steering and very little paddling was needed. Water was super clear. Jumped over to Bull Shoals Lake for a day of boating, swimming and fishing. One of the Top vacations we have had.

my extended male family goes trout fishing here every year. we use guides and the fishing is great. these guys know what they are doing. we had eleven in our group. we stay in mountain home and it's an easy drive to the park. it can be a bit cold at times. we usually go for a couple of days from mid April to mid March. we really enjoy it. the park concession has most any supplies you may need to make the trip effective.

Had Easter egg hunt here, the trees are plentiful, and the playground was clean. There is a large pavilion, which can be rented, and is close to the river and right next to bathrooms and playground... also verry clean and well maintained. It's just beautiful down there.

A wonderful, beautiful, and truly amazing campground. This is our first visit here, but it won't be our last! We've enjoyed sitting by the water and watching all boats float past, then after a while, they'll have to use their motor to go against the current to do it all over again! The campground is clean, and the park rangers were so helpful. I highly recommend this little piece of heaven.

We recently returned from a five day camping trip to Bull Shoals. What a fabulous time we had. Beautiful and spacious campsites, clean facilities and a very friendly staff. We rented a canoe for a phenomenal float trip and were returned back to the park by two of the nicest park employees. I can recommend this beautiful slice of camping heaven without reservation!

Beautiful area. Loved going through the Bull shoals state park visitor center. Lots to see. Had a little movie that talked about the history of the area before and during the creation of the dam. There are lots of campsites to stay at. And an excellent area to trout fish. Take the trip and stay here. I'll try to get some more scenic pictures next time I'm there. I got caught up in the beauty and nature around me.
