Burns Park Campground

Overview

Burns Park Campground offers a peaceful and scenic retreat within one of the largest municipal parks in the United States. Located in North Little Rock along the northern banks of the Arkansas River, this destination provides a unique blend of wooded tranquility and metropolitan convenience. It serves as an ideal gateway for travelers who want to explore the natural beauty of central Arkansas while staying only minutes away from urban amenities. The park is characterized by its heavy tree cover and expansive green spaces, providing a quiet atmosphere for a relaxing getaway.

Location & Surroundings

The campground is nestled deep within the 1,700-acre Burns Park, surrounded by lush forests and rolling terrain. Despite its close proximity to the intersection of Interstate 40 and Interstate 30, the thick natural canopy helps buffer city noise, creating a secluded environment. The park’s position along the Arkansas River Trail means visitors are never far from breathtaking waterfront views and miles of paved pathways that connect North Little Rock to the capital city across the river.

Amenities & Park Features

Designed to accommodate a variety of rigs, the campground features paved pads with a mix of back-in and pull-through configurations. Travelers can choose between sites offering water and electric or full hookups, ensuring a comfortable stay for both short-term stopovers and longer visits. On-site facilities include heated restrooms, hot showers, and a convenient dump station. While it maintains a rustic charm, the park provides essential modern comforts in a clean, well-maintained environment that highlights the beauty of the Arkansas outdoors.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Recreation is the centerpiece of the experience here, with immediate access to top-tier golf courses, disc golf, and tennis complexes within the park boundaries. Cyclists and hikers frequently visit to tackle the Big Dam Bridge, the longest pedestrian and bicycle bridge in the world specifically built for that purpose. For those seeking cultural experiences, the Clinton Presidential Library and the Argenta Arts District are a short drive away, offering diverse dining, shopping, and entertainment options for every type of traveler.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an exceptional choice for outdoor enthusiasts and cyclists who prioritize direct access to trail systems and sports facilities. It is also well-suited for families seeking a budget-friendly nature experience without venturing too far from city services. Because of its quiet, wooded layout, it appeals most to RVers who prefer a traditional, park-like setting over a highly commercialized resort. Pet owners will also appreciate the abundance of open space and walking paths available for their four-legged companions.

I agree with the comment of Jason below. Nice park and very quiet. Of course, there is no swimming pool, bar, shop, or other stuff, it’s wilder, with a lovely forest behind

Okay park right off Interstate 40. Road in is pretty narrow. Woman in office is very friendly. We were in site 54 which is gravel. Don't generally mind that but the gravel sites are so built up be careful as you back in so you don't go over the side. My only real complaint are people who leave their dogs unattended in their RVs. We listened to our neighbors two dogs barking for over an hour before they settled down. I understand one's need for a pet but leaving them cooped up all day is cruel IMHO.

This RV park is well kept and has extremely beautiful scenery. The woods around the park is perfect for a stroll with your significant other or a pooch or two. I also like how close it is to restaurants and stores, but still far enough away to avoid the noises from them. It's very quiet at night and most of the time during the day. The only cons to this park is that the Wi-Fi is a bit weak. Also, where the electrics and water is located on a few spots, you'll need an extra hose or electric extension to reach it. The helpful and friendly management more than make up for those few cons. I have had nothing but great experiences with them. You can tell they care about the park. I highly recommend Burns RV park, whether it's for a day or a week, it's well worth it. 5 stars for this place!

Site 54 is terrible - avoid at all costs! We were not forewarned that the electrical box was over 15 feet away or that we would need 75 feet of hose to connect to water. They also never mentioned that our site shares a water spigot with the site behind it (33, I believe). When we called to make the reservation, they didn't mention any of this to us. When they called us the day before arrival to verify we were still going to show, they did not mention this. When they gave us our registration packet when we checked in, they did not mention this. We felt like idiots walking around trying to find our water connection. We've never been to an RV park where we had to share a spigot so we did not think to hook into someone else's. Also, this site is next to the bathhouse and people will park in front of your site and block you in. The light from the bathhouse is so bright it lit up our bedroom despite our black shades. We didn't not sleep well the couple nights we stayed at this park. We will never stay here again.
