Camp-N-Town RV Park

Overview

Camp-N-Town RV Park offers a welcoming, shaded retreat in the heart of Nevada’s capital city. Known for its mature landscaping and central location, this park provides a tranquil home base for travelers exploring the high desert. It strikes a balance between the convenience of an urban park and the peacefulness of a well-kept garden, standing out from the usual stretches of asphalt found in other city parks. It is a reliable choice for short stays or seasonal visits for those wanting a park-like atmosphere.

Location & Surroundings

Situated directly in Carson City, the park is nestled within a residential and commercial transition zone. This means you are steps away from local conveniences while remaining tucked back from heavy highway noise. The surrounding area features the dramatic backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains, providing a scenic contrast to the city’s historic architecture. Its position serves as a gateway to the diverse landscapes of Northern Nevada, allowing for easy navigation of the capital city and beyond.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed for practicality and comfort, featuring full hookup sites that accommodate various rig sizes. Most sites offer level pads and are separated by lush grass and large trees, which are a rarity in high-desert RV parks. Guests have access to essential facilities, including clean laundry rooms and restrooms with showers. The inclusion of cable TV and Wi-Fi ensures that travelers can stay connected, while the staff maintains the grounds to ensure the community remains safe and quiet throughout the year.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Staying here places you within minutes of the Nevada State Capitol and the historic district’s many museums. For outdoor enthusiasts, the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tahoe are just a short drive over the mountain pass. History buffs often take the quick trip to Virginia City to experience the authentic vibe of the Old West, while those looking for nightlife and dining can easily reach Reno. Local hiking and biking trails are also easily accessible from the park, offering a quick escape into nature.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for RVers who value walkability and convenience above all else. If you prefer having grocery stores and local diners within easy reach rather than being miles into the wilderness, you will appreciate this layout. It is perfectly suited for history enthusiasts exploring the Comstock Lode area or travelers looking for a comfortable, shaded stopover while transitioning between the California mountains and the Nevada desert. It is also a great fit for long-term travelers needing a reliable urban base.

The office staff is amazing but the maintenance guy they have is rude and disrespectful. If I was a business owner I would want all my staff to be professional and nice. The staff is a reflection of your business. If you are looking for a kid friendly park this is not it. They will kick you out or will not let you stay here. They have the basic amenities shower/bathroom, dog park, and laundry room. If you are looking for amenities and the is kid friendly go to a different RV Park. The price is lower than most but not for what you deal with. It feels like walking on eggshells. You personally have be on the good side of the owners to not be evicted from the place if you are staying long term. They don’t give you the rules of the park when you check in so when you break a rule it is your fault for not knowing. I do not recommend this park for long term stay. Short term is fine.

Nice large resort for all sizes of RVs big too small, we stayed 2 nights, the restrooms were clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. We walked to breakfast n dinner, everything you need within a short walk. Price per Night was good 👍.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay here. We called the day before and made reservations. Management allowed us to pull in and hook up late and pay the next morning. This is a no frill, full hook up park. We appreciated the price, one of the most affordable in the area! The owner Kurt was kind and super helpful. The park is a little tight for big rigs but do-able. We have a 38 ft motorhome and tow vehicle. We had to disconnect in order to fit in a pull through spot. Check out the largest antique shop in Nevada down the road and drive to Virginia City!

Didn’t spend the night, but called and spoke with Kurt in the office about filling my campervan with water at their park. He let us stop by and get our tank filled for next to nothing. If we were staying in the area, we’d definitely stay here. Very friendly people!

Enjoyed our stay. Close enough to walk to downtown and the capitol. Bathrooms are large and very clean. Cell service was good as was the wifi. Friendly and helpful staff too.
