This is a very well maintained campground with rv hookups (some sites electric and water some include sewer). All sites appear pretty level. I just had to put some 1" wood blocks under 1 back dully and I was level! If you have the military or senior lifetime pass you get 50% discount on certain sites (but not all ). DO NOT STAY HERE I would leave zero stars if the system allowed it. Our stay at Camp Richardson was absolutely atrocious, and the business practices of the hotel are unacceptable. We did not sleep at all during our three-night stay, due to an equipment issue known to the hotel, and are being refused the full refund we were promised. Each night of our stay, we were kept up all night by loud banging noises on our wall that sounded like hammering. On the second night, my partner went to the front desk to complain, and found the guests staying in the room next to us were complaining as well. Staff let him know that these noises were known to the hotel, and were being caused by an 80-year-old water pump. They accepted full responsibility, and told him we would receive a full refund of our stay. In the morning, I talked about the issue with staff as well, and again was promised a full refund. We tried to stay somewhere else for the third night, but there was no availability for a same-day, one night booking at surrounding hotels, so we were forced to stay for a third night, during which the banging noises continued all night and we did not sleep at all. The fact that this is a known issue to the hotel, and that they are still renting out the affected rooms, is unacceptable. At the very least, they should have contacted us ahead of time and given us the informed option to cancel our stay and book elsewhere, but even that common courtesy was denied to us. To make matters worse, they are now refusing us the full refund. It took five days of emailing, calling, and leaving messages to get ahold of someone from management, only for them to tell us that they would not be honoring the full refund that we were promised on two separate occasions. I would have preferred to resolve the issue directly, but they’ve now caused even more hassle of me having to dispute the charge with my credit card company. This is unacceptable, and shows a blatant disregard for the experience and wellbeing of their guests. If you want an enjoyable trip and the ability to sleep at night, STAY ELSEWHERE!

Review of Badgers Den campground on the north side of Hwy 89: Camp sites here are nicely maintained, flat and offer shade cover (with the exception of sites 58 and 60 which are in the sun). Each site has a bear locker, fire ring, and reasonably close access to water and bathrooms. The check in hut is right across the road. Process was smooth and took just a couple minutes, staff were very nice. Campground is a 10min walk to Pope Beach, the Grove Beach Bar & Grill, and the general store. Great walking/ biking paths. All areas were crowded over the weekend in August. The beach bar had live music 1-5pm, and got very busy at this time. Pope Beach filled up by 10am on Saturday. Camping groups were a bit loud at night, and you do hear traffic noise / car alarms going off at night as other reviews mention. Restrooms and showers were fine. Warm water is a plus! Overall it was an enjoyable stay. Spotted a mother and baby bear wandering around the site! Don't leave food out!

We stayed in the RV park. The sights were roomy enough for our RV, a tent and an extra vehicle. A bear came through our camp, but didn't seem too concerned with us. The location is awesome, just a short drive to the beach or into town. The bathrooms and showers need updating for sure, but the camp overall was pretty clean. People were pretty good about keeping the "quiet hours". We will stay there again for sure.

Camping at this location and site 74 was the best location in the entire area. It was 5 min walk to beach and the bathrooms were only a short walk away. The shower was free where we were and you deff had to wear shower shoes but it was hot water and wasn’t too bad. Got to see bears and they didn’t bother us except for getting a smoothie drink we accidentally left in drink cooler one night. They do know how to open coolers. The raccoons are the ones you have to watch out for and are aggressive. Also I bought a privacy tent with a bathroom and I highly recommend it for those who want privacy and for ladies who don’t want to walk to bathrooms in middle of night to go. Since the bears do walk around at night. The only thing about this site is people twice walked through our campsite from beach thinking it was a shortcut. Instead of turning around they kept going and saying I’m so sorry. So we decided to create a barrier on the path so no one could walk through. That’s the only downside. I feel they need to put a big sign on the actually road as well next to the path. There’s one at the campsite front but that’s not where people come from. Next year we are doing cabins but I definitely recommend camp Richardson for actually camping.
