Our family has gone there for a quarter century. The cabins are rustic, but have modern conveniences. Many of them have blue water views. So many things to do around and in camp Richardson. It sits on the best location in Lake Tahoe because most of the rest of the lake is highly developed.

Came to Camp Richardson for a fun winter vacation in early January 2025. We stayed in their hotel, which is within walking distance of the beach(which is within the property). Location overall is just a few minutes from town, which was convenient. While we were there we got hit with a winter storm, since the room access is from indoors (from within the hotel itself), it was nice not to track in snow with our shoes when we came back from our ventures. There's free parking on the property for guests, when you check in they give you a parking pass for your vehicle. The room we stayed in was a cute 1 bed 1 bath (bonus points for having a full length mirror by the bathroom). It was perfect for us since we were mainly exploring and out in town for the majority of our stay. Would definitely be back.

We stayed at the resort's RV park. The location just outside South Lake Tahoe is very convenient. Some of the sites are nice and spacious and face the forest, but others are very cramped. The quiet hours are sadly not being enforced and some campers played loud music until well past 10pm. The toilets and showers need updating and more frequent cleaning.

Camped two nights. Saw black bear (this one was brown in color) which are vegetarian, so I wasn't that concerned. Someone turned on their car alarm for an hour to scare the bear away one night, which was not necessary. Would be helpful if visitors are automatically given a flyer regarding the bears as we enter the campgrounds. Otherwise, people assume they are meat eating bears and overreact. Act big with hands up, make lots of noise, and back up slowly I believe are the recommendations when near one. Additionally you can bring bear spray and / or an air horn. Beach is walkable from Camp Richardson though there is also a beach parking lot.

We traveled from Arizona with some jet skis and staying at the hotel. Looking at the satellite images there appeared to be plenty of parking. That was until the parking nazi came by to give us a hard time about parking two vehicles with a jet ski. Both vehicles were each in one spot, not blocking anyone. One would think that you're at a large lake and to expect that there are going to be people here with water toys. While there appears to be plenty of parking on the property, they limit where you can go, so be aware of that. I then decided to go chat with the manager, as that interaction really rubbed me the wrong way after a day on the lake. Oddly enough someone else at the counter was asking for a manager on another issue. Of course no manager available and the poor front desk person is left to deal with this stuff. I kindly let them know if my parking was an issue to refund the rest of my nights and check me out. The "hotel" is more like a bed and breakfast with very small rooms and no ac. As a business owner, I hate leaving reviews like this but this place obviously doesn't focus on their customers and others should be aware.

Staff very nice and helpful. The location of hotel is awesome due to being next to beach. You can also rent boats or catch the rum runner cruise. This is maybe just me but for the price of the room I’d expect a little better. For example you have to pay extra for a room clean. There is no A/C, no chair in room to sit on.

We had a great time renting bikes at Camp Richardson! The trails were beautiful and easy to follow, with plenty of scenic spots, historic landmarks, and beaches to explore along the way. It made for a fun and memorable ride. The rental prices were very reasonable by the hour, and having front row parking for our car was super convenient. Overall, a smooth and enjoyable experience—we’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking to bike around Lake Tahoe!

Location is amazing! The hotel in itself is a legacy of 100+ years old. So the rooms end up being a bit too small. Not much of a ventilation other than windows. On cold nights it does pose a bit of a problem. Would not blame them, but I went with more expectations.

Booking here may be hit and miss depending on neighbors due to thin walls. Hotel provided a new room and compensation following an incident, so service was good overall. Basic amenities but great location.

Perfect place for our camping experience. Clean and closer to the lake than expected. Nice little restaurant at the lake front with some amazing food. Brussels sprouts rocked, very tasty! Also served a beer there from a local brewery that had a peach flavor aftertaste that was like eating a fresh peach off the tree. Overall experience was fantastic. Waiter was funny and helpful as well as attentive. Great family atmosphere.

you stay here because it's close to the lake/biking trails. and it is VERY close to the lake and trails which is really nice. just don't expect much else. the beds are comfortable definitely a bonus. however I am currently writing this review at 630 in the morning in a cabin that doesn't have any plugs in the back to charge my phone hoping that the deafening truck that empties the dumpsters will leave soon. it seems like the perfect explanation of this place. not bad, but far from great. but it is super cheap for it's location especially as a walk in but you get what you pay for which last night was a loud band at the lake until 11 and dumpster trucks at 630

From Noah greeting us at the front desk with a lovely personality until the time we left, we had a great time. Some things to note: no AC (there is a ceiling and a portable fan) and next to a busy road (very noisy during the day). I would disclose we were at the lake most of the day and did not do much in the room. When you come to Tahoe you are there to hike and do water or winter activities and this places location provided just that. Parking is ridiculous in Tahoe during the weekends. If you stay here you can walk to the beach without worrying about parking, you can rent bikes across the street, there is a general store, ice cream and coffee shop across the street. You are within walking/biking distance to several beaches and hikes. I would definitely stay here again. Ps. Do NOT eat at the restaurant, food is disgusting BUT the rum runner was delicious. I recommend just getting cocktails and maybe a small app. The location is excellent right in the lake. They also have live music at times and it gets super busy.
