The road definitely requires a high clearance vehicle for the last approximately 4 miles. It’s very busy so go early. I took the last parking spot and I thought I was early.

I really liked this free campground, super beautiful. The only negative thing I can say is heading up the mountain at a very inconvenient spot someone placed two of the tallest speed bumps I have ever seen and they are at a very steep incline. My van did not appreciate them and they scrapped up some tanks underneath on the way down. So be very careful, but that’s the only downside. If you can make it passed the worst part it’s a little Gem. Enjoy.
