Took my travel trailer there for a few nights. Great place. Awesome views. Full hookups and just all around nice area to visit. Kind and friendly staff. Always ready and happy to help. Would definitely consider visiting again.

They a new section with concrete pads bu they are not level at all. At least most of them are not. Some they won’t put a motorhome on because impossible to level so trailers only. We have d to use a lot of wood and still not level. One lane road steep and 180 degree turns. Very dusty. There maybe 10 lots that are really nice with views and concrete level. They are the premium lots. If you can’t get one I wouldn’t book as a motorhome. There are some nice views because it sits on top of a mountain. The caretaker was very nice and sympathetic. Tried to get us more level lot but some were even worse

10/10 dog friendly campground. We've stayed at Campfire Lodgings several times now car camping over the past decade and it continues to be one of our favorite spots near Asheville. It’s not super remote, which makes it easy to get to and close to town, but you still get a great sense of privacy at each campsite. The sites are nicely spaced and tucked into the landscape, so even with neighbors nearby, it never feels crowded. The views are absolutely lovely...especially at sunset - and the quiet, peaceful atmosphere keeps us coming back. The campground is clean and well-maintained, with convenient amenities like bathrooms and trash receptacles. Even though it's not deep in the wilderness, be bear aware! It's still mountain territory, so keep food stored properly and follow campground guidelines. Campfire Lodgings is the perfect balance between accessibility, comfort, and natural beauty. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing mountain escape without giving up basic conveniences.

Beautiful location with awesome hosts and so close to Asheville!!! Driveway up is a bit longer than you would expect, but they have encouraging signs going up all of the way! Bones, one of the hosts was especially helpful and willing to jump in with answers even off duty. The tent camping spots are perfect even for big tents and the bathrooms are very well maintained

Great little campground with a good view of the valley below. A bit of a narrow drive up to the campsite but take your time and it's no sweat. Service is top notch and they can even fill your propane at the campground. This one is also pretty close to Asheville and plenty of local markets within a short drive.

Small, quiet, friendly, but mostly beautiful views! Enjoyed our time here!

What a gem of a campground! Tucked into the side of a mountain with amazing views of the mountains and the French Broad River below. The hosts were very friendly. The area has so many good hikes and amazing waterfalls. We always made sure we got back in time to enjoy the sunset.

I can only speak for sites P1-P5 (the BEST) and P8 as a close second. We were in P5 and It’s absolutely worth the extra money… The view is stunningly beautiful. It’s definitely the most interaction I’ve ever had with Campground staff. At first it feels a little excessive and almost intrusive…Everything from visits about driving 9 miles an hour when the speed limit says 5, (it’s almost impossible to go 5mph), needing to put out fires when it’s windy (no fire on 2 chilly nights…but I get it), not being able to put your rug out if it’s touching grass, not being allowed in the store/office “because of Covid” when it’s March 2022, our friend’s water got disconnected at night (unbeknownst to them) because it was dripping and evidently affecting water pressure… but in the morning our friend was convinced there was something wrong with their camper because they had no idea, etc.. BUT- when it comes right down to it I’m ok with these rules being in place because it’s in part why our site looked so beautiful when we showed up… Same rules were placed upon the people there before us. Jason works dusk til dawn it seems and is super helpful and clearly cares A LOT about his job. Laundry but no soap vending or dollar changing machines so take your own. 4 or 5 individual bathrooms with a shower on par for what you’d expect camping. Horseshoes, cornhole, and Jason brought us ice from the store even though we couldn’t go inside (no clue what else is in there). He truly will go above and beyond to make your stay nice and help you out…just expect an over and beyond for “rules” as well. Navitat ziplining nearby was awesome, and we also drove to Hot Springs to do the lovers Leap 2 mile hike and soak in the natural mineral Hot Springs afterward… Worth a visit just make a reservation. 10-15 minutes to grove park inn/Walmart/anything you’d need. I’d definitely visit again if in P1-P5

The ONLY drawbacks to this place are the steep winding driveway to the park and the narrow drive to the sites which necessitates driving to the turnaround at the end whenever you leave. Everything else is GREAT! Nice staff, fantastic mountain views, EXCELLENT restroom/showers-- 5 individual toilet/shower rooms that you can lock behind you. Small store at the office.
