Camping Cap A la Roche
Overview
Camping Cap À la Roche offers a serene escape overlooking the majestic St. Lawrence River in Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent. Known for its stunning cliffside vistas, this park provides a unique vantage point to watch large ships navigate the waterway. It strikes a balance between a peaceful retreat and a well-equipped base for exploring the Centre-du-Quebec region. The atmosphere is welcoming, reflecting the warm hospitality typical of rural Quebec riverside communities.
Location & Surroundings
Situated directly on the banks of the river, the park is defined by its dramatic elevated topography. The village of Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent is part of the scenic Marie-Victorin route, offering travelers lush agricultural landscapes and historic architecture. The proximity to the water means guests can enjoy cool river breezes and colorful sunsets that reflect off the surface of the St. Lawrence, making it a photographer's delight during the golden hour.

The park is well-equipped for modern RVers, offering spacious sites with full 30 and 50 amp hookups. Families appreciate the heated outdoor swimming pool and dedicated play areas for children that keep everyone entertained. On-site facilities include clean laundry rooms and showers, ensuring a comfortable long-term stay. The park also provides easy access to the shore during low tide, allowing visitors to walk along the sandy riverbanks and explore the natural shoreline at their own pace.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Beyond the park, visitors can explore local culinary delights like the famous Fromagerie des Grondines or visit nearby orchards and cider houses. For a day trip, the historic city of Trois-Rivieres is within a reasonable driving distance, providing museums, fine dining, and cultural events along the vibrant waterfront district.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for nature-loving families seeking a safe environment with plenty of activities for kids. It also appeals strongly to couples and retirees who value quiet evenings and panoramic views of the water. Because it accommodates larger motorhomes, it is an excellent choice for big-rig travelers navigating the route between Montreal and Quebec City who want a scenic stopover rather than a basic roadside park.

An absolute gem along the St Lawrence River. The staff are very friendly, the sites along the water are worth the extra cost. All sites were clean and a good size. You didn’t feel crowded here. The views are spectacular and if you enjoy relaxing and watching the ships go by, you won’t be disappointed.

Travelled their with my travel trailer. Nice place along the St Laurence River. Especially nice are those spots on the very edge of the campsite all along the waterfront. Free WiFi and firewood and other amenities are priced very reasonable. Will be going back in September this time close to the waterfront!

Great camping right on the St-Laurence, great for walking and enjoying the view. The water heater in the washrooms produces scalding hot water for the taps and showers, so beware. Also to note there is not a pool, though there is water games for kids
