Camping Castor

We've camped at Castor for a few subsequent years now, all in the autumn. It is surreal to be able to spend a weekend in the campground, especially if you can get a site that has an informal path to the lake shore!

Well organized camping, I recommend. Pros: -Well organized camping areas, with a fire pit and camping table. -Warm sanitary bloc with bathroom, toilet paper, hot water, mirror and shower. -Tap water available at many spots (about every 20m). -You are close to your neighbors but still feel separated from them. -Enough space on the camping spot for one big tent of 10, fire pit, kitchen area, and 3 small cars to park. Note: -No data service since before you enter the park, so take offline notes of where your camping is and how to access it, or go to the Discovery Center and ask. -The park's dépanneur closes at 5pm

Thick canopy of trees, no artificial lighting and lots of densely forested room between sites made for a nice private experience at the end of the day. On a quiet side road rather than a main throughoughfare so pretty much dead silent all night! Site was large and pedestal had both 30A and two 15A sockets so good for non-RV users as well. Close to the Lac Monroe beach, so easy to head out early and watch sunrise over the lake. Hiking, Kayaking and Mountain-biking options are plenty!

Awesome EXP cabins, I will reserve for next year for sure!

Beautiful campsite. We rented a Utopia tent. Everything is included. Bring your own food, blankets, and clothes. The toilets and showers are clean and well-maintained.
