Camping des Chutes

Overview

Located in the heart of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region, Camping des Chutes offers a serene escape where the power of nature meets modern RV convenience. This park is named for its proximity to the impressive Chute des Pères, a series of cascading waterfalls that provide a stunning backdrop for travelers. The park serves as a welcoming gateway for those looking to explore the boreal forest while enjoying a well-maintained, professional camping environment that balances tranquility with accessibility.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Dolbeau-Mistassini, the park is nestled along the banks of the Mistassibi River. The surrounding landscape is defined by lush greenery and the rhythmic sound of rushing water. One of the most significant draws of this location is its direct connection to the Véloroute des Bleuets, a world-renowned cycling circuit that loops around Lac Saint-Jean. Travelers will find themselves surrounded by wild blueberry patches and thick forests, yet only a short distance from the local services of the city.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed to accommodate a variety of rigs, offering spacious full-hookup RV sites that include water, electricity, and sewer services. For those who prioritize comfort, the facility features a heated outdoor pool, clean modern washrooms, and laundry facilities. Families often gather at the central playground or take advantage of the communal fire pits. The park also maintains wooded hiking trails that allow visitors to walk directly from their campsites to scenic viewpoints overlooking the river rapids.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Adventure is never far away in Dolbeau-Mistassini. Visitors can take a short trip to the Pères Trappistes Monastery to sample world-famous chocolate-covered blueberries or explore the expansive Zoo Sauvage de Saint-Félicien located nearby. The river itself is a hub for activity, offering opportunities for fishing and kayaking. During the summer months, the local festivals celebrate the region's agricultural heritage, making it an excellent time to experience the local culture and hospitality of northern Quebec.

Exceptionally Beautiful location and quiet at night. Washroom lacked toilet paper and paper towels sometimes. Lots of people not following mask rule in the washroom.

This is an amazing campground lots of VR and the views aren’t the best in the vaping spot that have services, but if you get the no service spots those are by the river and you’ll have an epic time there. You can hear the river all night and it’s extremely pleasant. The sun sets right on the other side of the falls so your in for an epic view at sunset. Prices are affordable and very reasonable. Very clean campground with washrooms, toilets and laundromat.
