We had been in this gite in 2019 by default because it was the only one free for a 3-day weekend and seeing the state of this place, its smell, we very quickly understood why it was the only one with space. The owner made us pay for our 2 nights reserved upon our arrival without even showing us the rooms and we quickly understood why. We asked after our first horrible night to be reimbursed for the second one which had not been made to simply leave and she told me that no we would not be reimbursed and that yes she always charged in advance because otherwise there were always people who came to complain.....

Very friendly owner! Perfect quiet place to relax.

We should say the scammer instead of the charmer. The photos are misleading. There was a kitchen for breakfast but no bread, no milk for coffee. Nothing! Even the restaurant and reception were closed, so there was no way to talk to the owner. The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the smell of an old cellar. The bedroom floor was sagging in some places under the carpet. The ceilings were so curved that there was a 6-inch difference between the corners and the center. There were broken floor tiles in the bathroom. The floor is so crooked that we felt like we were on a boat in a storm. There were dead insects on the windowsills. I saw a creature crawl under a desk and couldn't find it to identify it. I thought it was a cockroach, but my partner says it was a cricket. We had to stay the night because everything in St-Simeon was booked up that night. I don't recommend it at all. They say it's a charming old house. But there are well-maintained old houses and not-so-maintained old houses. Very, very, very disappointed.

Small campsite, in transition period for change of owner, we were there because the St-Siméon campsites were full

Nice place to have a foothold and visit the small town of st-siméon.

The welcome was good, the bedding comfortable, and the cleanliness of the place acceptable. However, the house is very noisy due to its age and proximity to the road, which has significant truck and car traffic (approximately 15-20 meters between the house and the road). The breakfast was nothing like the buffet photos.

We spent one night in this charming little house. We received a very warm welcome; it was the perfect setting for a short family getaway! The room was very traditional and clean; we loved the decor! We highly recommend it! We'll definitely be back!

It's a great place. But could be better

A wonderful welcome and breakfast. The cottage is unique, cozy, and comfortable.
