It serves as a vibrant basecamp for travelers looking to enjoy the warm Quebec summers while surrounded by a community of fellow outdoor enthusiasts and active families.

Location & Surroundings

The park is perfectly positioned in Lac-à-la-Tortue, a sector of Shawinigan known for its historic seaplane base and serene waters. The landscape is characterized by gentle slopes and lush greenery typical of the Mauricie woodlands. Its proximity to Shawinigan ensures that visitors have easy access to urban services while still feeling tucked away in a lakeside retreat. The surrounding area is flat and navigable, making it ideal for those traveling with larger RV rigs.

Travelers will find a wealth of facilities designed for both comfort and recreation. The park is famous for its massive heated swimming pool, complete with impressive water slides and a dedicated splash pad for younger children. For those who prefer the lake, a private sandy beach provides access to the calm waters of the "Turtle Lake." Standard amenities include full hookup sites (water, sewer, and electricity), modern restroom facilities, a convenience store, and various sports courts for volleyball and basketball.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the park gates, the Mauricie region offers a diverse array of experiences. A short drive away is La Mauricie National Park, where visitors can hike through ancient forests or paddle across pristine lakes. In the city of Shawinigan, the Cité de l'énergie provides a fascinating look at the region’s industrial heritage with its iconic observation tower. Aviation fans should not miss the chance to watch seaplanes take off from the local hydrobase, which is a unique hallmark of the local culture.

Go somewhere else. Overpriced and under serviced.

20$ for entry is alright, but for the amount of people that they let in.. in not that big of a place.. I didn't even enter. Obviously it's made for kids so prepare for chaos.

Kids loved it, with many activities to do. However it is one of those campgrounds that depending where you are the trailers are parked tightly together.

Fun area, closed off campground. Very francophone and crowded. If you want tranquility and relaxation, that is not the place. Loud music in the middle of the night. So go with adults who like to party. We got a tent far from the center so at least we could sleep well. Then walked 5 minutes to the center where there is a large fun park pool and junk food stands. I will go again with friends. Overall was really fun. Felt like I was in the 1990s when I had hair.
