Camping Parc De VR Royal Papineau

RV Park

Overview

Overview

Camping Parc De VR Royal Papineau sits within the scenic Laurentian foothills of Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette, QC, offering travelers a traditional Canadian camping experience surrounded by mature trees and rural landscapes. This destination places visitors directly into the natural rhythm of southwestern Quebec, making it a straightforward stop for motorists exploring the river valleys and rolling terrain north of the Ottawa-Gatineau metropolitan area.

Location & Surroundings

Situated along the Gatineau River corridor, the terrain around Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette is characterized by dense mixed forests, rocky outcroppings, and winding country roads. Route 307 serves as the primary artery connecting travelers southward to Gatineau and Ottawa or deeper into the rugged terrain of the Outaouais region. Summers bring warm, humid conditions ideal for outdoor living, while autumn transforms the valley into a sweeping canvas of red and gold foliage.

Amenities & Park Features

Because property-specific details are not explicitly stated in the name beyond basic RV accommodation, visitors should verify operational specifics directly. Be sure to confirm site dimensions, voltage capacities, and water hookup configurations before arrival. Campers can generally anticipate standard campground infrastructure such as utility pedestals, defined gravel or grass pads, and shared sanitation facilities typical of Quebec recreational parks.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The surrounding Outaouais region provides ample opportunity for outdoor recreation, water sports, and scenic driving. Anglers and boaters frequently access the Gatineau River for paddling and fishing, while nearby Papineau-Labelle Wildlife Reserve offers vast networks of wilderness trails and pristine lakes. Cyclists and road-trippers also enjoy exploring the paved secondary highways that meander through historic agricultural settlements and forested riverbanks.

Who This Park Is Best For

This location suits road-trippers, nature lovers, and families seeking a quieter basecamp away from major urban congestion. It appeals particularly to travelers looking to experience the natural beauty of the Laurentian foothills without straying too far from regional supply hubs. Those prioritizing unhurried river views, regional trail systems, and a quintessential Quebec countryside atmosphere will find this a suitable waypoint.

This is a very beautiful location - in a valley by a large lake and large hills. Staff were very friendly. This is the definition of middle of nowhere - which is what we want. Only Golf is nearby. Some parts have no shade, so make sure you are ready for that. Lots of hills, so an ebike or really good muscles are needed. Only crtisim was the dump station was not identified and the wash water was broken.

I'm not sure how to rate this place. My spot was booked for me and was very close to the beach, very open, 0 trees. There was constant traffic between trucks and golf carts. Friday night there was a literal dj. Putting my kids to sleep with booming music was not great. There were no bathrooms in this area minus the two near the pool, thankfully the people we went with had an equipped rv. I will say the beach is fun, the pool is nice, the corner store is nice as well. Maybe if you book in a different part of the park the noise would be less obnoxious or you might get a tree or two. My kids loved it, I loved the beach, the rest was very meh.

Very cool spot a little of everything, lake, beach, atv trails. Even golf so you'll be entertained and does not feel over crowded. Would add a bigger park for the kids and a water slide but other then that its perfect.

We were seasonal campers. No daily activities some occasional. Young kids driving carts and going way over speed limit. Rules not enforced. Pool not heated all summer. Now closed because no lifeguard. Price for seasonal never reduced. Beautiful lake and hills. Dog seen in restaurant kitchen. No way this is a 4 star.
