When the weather gets cold, no better place to be than a Canaan Valley State Park cabin. The cabins are clean and comfortable with well equipped kitchens and great stone fireplaces. There are nice trails in the park for snowshoeing and two downhill areas within a short drive. The staff is friendly and helpful — they’ll deliver firewood to your cabin.

Lots of fun!!! We rented cabins but the main lodge looks awesome and has an indoor pool. We tried skiing for the first time and we had a great time. Skiing, roasting marshmallows in the cabin, dinner at the lodge all were great experiences.....

Our room had mold hidden by a tall lamp. When checking out I told the front desk who said that’s unacceptable but didn’t give us any discount. The TV didn’t have the whole list of TV channels it said it had. The dinner buffet for $35 and was dry the two nights we tried it. Breakfast buffet was way better! The beds were very springy like you could feel the springs in your back. The beds were so outdated and not nice at all. Our toilet ran and ran we had to keep putting our hands in the back of the toilet water to fix the tank mechanics inside the toilet. Overall was very disappointed of our Resort experience. Was expecting a real nice place and room.

This is an amazing state park to stay in! I stayed in cabin one from October 9 to October 13 2025. It was quite nice to stay in! There are many things to do and see nearby, such as Blackwater Falls State Park, And Seneca Rocks. There are also many trails with a lot of wildlife, such as many salamander species!

A group of friends and I went down for a long weekend golf trip. The golf course was in good shape. The staff was friendly and attentive. Adult beverages were definitely resort priced. Beer was $4 a can and my friend bought Truly and it was $7.50 a can.
