I just stayed at Maple Park for the first time . I have stayed at a lot of camp grounds. Through many years , we came in as a group of four families another family booked the camp sites . That being said when we first pulled our first impression was this is not going to be a good 4 days. We ended up having a great time and are thinking about booking a 2 week stay next summer . The pond was clean and the kids had a blast fishing , paddle boats , canoes, playing outside games . It was great to see them off technology and enjoying the fresh air and outside. For that reason alone I give this Campground a 5 star.

This was our first year staying at Maple Park, and unfortunately will also be our last. I’m not looking for five star accommodations from a campground, but our recent trip left much to be desired. Within an hour of being cleaned in the mornings, the bathrooms were filthy. With how many people are piled in next to each other, they definitely need to be cleaning the bathrooms more than once a day. On our last night, we experienced waking up in the middle of the night to a man yelling at security. This led to the cops being called, the man being tased twice and arrested. The whole ordeal took over 3 hours, and happened at the site right next to our tent with my sleeping toddler and 6 month old. Not only was it terrifying, there were headlights shining in our tent till nearly 5 in the morning. While I do understand that the campground is not responsible for what happened, I think that it was handled very poorly when we tried to address the issue with staff the next day. We were laughed at and brushed off by multiple people, and met with no sympathy. It is my understanding that this type of occurrence is quite common for this campground. I would not recommend anyone stay here, especially if you have little kids and value feeling safe while camping.

This was our third or fourth year at Maple Park. We have stayed in the same sites overlooking the beach, which was perfect in regards to location, each time and that is kind of where the upsides end. The bathrooms are often dirty, the sites are tiny and stacked on top of each other, obviously to cram as many sardines into the campground as possible. The showers are no longer ALL quarter -run, but the free ones operate on a button system to reduce water use. one of the showers i attempted to use this week was broken but the rest were all occupied, so I dealt. The real issue is where we are located. the staff refers to it as the Hilltop, but my group has renamed it degenerate row due to the yearly problems we have with other campers. From late night golf cart cruisers not respecting the quiet hours, to domestic disturbances, and this year the disturbance ended in a taser assisted arrest with five cruisers on scene. did I mention we all had young kids who thankfully slept through this? When discussing concerns with the staff it was clear that there are chronic issues with the campers in this area of the grounds, but there was no empathy for the campers that were disturbed. They also require every site to have a gate key for a $10 deposit and they doubled the reservation deposit. All in all the beautiful morning view of the beach is not enough to offset the cons and this will be our last year camping with Maple Park

BEWARE!! Our family (a group of 4 families) has given this campground chance after chance over the past 4 years. The restrooms are not kept clean, the sites are not clean upon arrival (large numbers of cigarette butts on site without fail), and very small close packed camp sites. The final straw for our families was yet another disturbance during our camp stay-a belligerently drunk man yelling slurs and swears who was later arrested and tased twice by police. This was a TRAUMATIZING experience for our young children to have at 1am. The police, security and disturbance carried on until 4am. There was NO empathy given to our families and overall this is why we will not return. The staff we spoke with all gave us giggles and "oh well you're on hilltop so..." Not to mention we have kept the same sites for 4 years and each year there is a domestic disturbance which they failed to acknowledge. Understandably, the staff cannot control every person that enters the campground but guests should be treated with empathy and respect when these situations occur. Please be careful if you bring small children to this campground and camp on the "hilltop" area. Very scary.

Really enjoyed this camp ground. Especially the pond. Was a little disappointed with the layout of the campground as you pretty much have to have a golf cart if you're on the far side of the campground. Most disappointing was the "fires out by midnight" rule. If there are responsible adults sitting by a fire quietly then there should be no issue with a late fire. After putting our fire out we walked by another site without a fire but they were extremely loud. Seems like priorities are backwards. Overall we would visit again.

Went in August with 3 adults 2 children. 2 under 2 Children. Only ended up staying 1 hour and left. 3 weeks before our date our kids got pneumonia. Both kids are two under two. We asked to cancel or change the date. We were told a manger would call us back. 1 week before we called again and they couldn't give us an answer because the manger needed to make the call. We Payed attention to our phone and never missed a call. We showed up on our date. The kids were doing good enough. It's was 50/50 but because we never got an answer we didn't want to loose 250$ We drove a suburban with an open trailer for all our camping stuff. Never had a problem in May when we went earlier in the year. At that time even a staff member said "nice trailer, nice set up" I have camped all my life with a truck and an open trailer to haul all the needed camping stuff and never had one campsite say anything. This places bathrooms are terrible. Most of their activities were closed. The playground is in the middle of nowhere. Zero staff members patrolling the grounds for loud music and other many disturbances. As soon as we walked in to grab our bathroom key and car tag it was the end of world to them that we had most of our camping stuff in an open trailer. Before I go anywhere, I am sure to read all the rules and I did. They explained that the trailer can't be left on the campsite That we should be able to fit all of our stuff in the back of the suburban. I explained how it wasn't listed on their website for their rules and that last time it was not a problem and we did not encroach on the other two campsites beside us. The suburban was packed and the trailer was fully packed also. We also brought up the fact that we weren't even sure if we were gonna go because the children are still technically sick but The manager Haven't gotten back to us. The office girls remembered us calling. They said well that Trailer can't go to the campsite sooo.,, I said well go get the manager, please. He was supposed to speak with us anyways. Just standing around The kids were still in the truck with The Motherin Law and we said you know what we'll meet him at the campsite we need to get the kids out of the truck. He shows up , we talk ,we start to unload and then he gets all pissed because he had no idea that he was supposed to call us back. He explains that the trailers are danger, then we go back-and-forth and he explains how the campsite has no Liability for anyone. he owns all the land. He's been doing this for 30 years. No Corperation owns this place , he has all his staff do the work not him , He's never let open trailers on a campsite . Justin Almighty nobody can touch me ,. I have a shiny truck. Blah blah, blah blah He also insulted me about my business and that I know nothing about liability insurance because my business is a joke. We said you know what we've had enough of you. We're leaving ,refund our money. He said sure I'll do that later tonight. I said you couldn't even Call us back. We start loading everything back up on the trailer. He did the refund on his phone and we got A confirmation email which was good enough. We eventually called around and found a new place to camp that day and it was the best. Don't go here go somewhere else.

We have stayed at maple park many times over the years. This past summer we spent a few nights and had a great time. We love the pond, the activities in the rec room & the snack shack/ ice cream. A few things I would be mindful of are the prices for water and electric for tenting seems to be a little high for what you get. Also the amount of second hand smoke was a large turn off. They did just make smoking on the beach prohibited but people would just stand next to the beach on the road and chain smoke. Otherwise we had a nice stay and I am sure will be back in the future.

I have stayed here for years and love it. There is so much for kids to do. I don't understand the bad reviews about staff....if you read the rules then you should be fine. I have never had a problem with staff. These rules are for safety and by the state on the fires. It's not the parks fault. The manager is amazing and the rest of the office staff as well. The snack shack is amazing and the employees are very personable and smiling. Don't let someone's bad reviews about rules ruin your good time.

Our first time to Maple Park Campground was awesome! Everything is clean & well maintained. The restrooms & showers are cleaned pretty frequently. The showers are small & water only runs for a short period of time, but you can just keep pressing the button for more time. It's nice having the facilities close to the campsites. They host events throughout the week, which can include bingo & live music. We got to see a band from 7:30-10pm at the beach & it was awesome! The ponds & beaches are very nice. We swam for hours & had a great time. There's a general store in the park that has lots of snacks, souvenirs, & necessities. They also have an ice cream shop & offer rentals (golf carts, kayaks, paddleboards, time on the pond inflatables, etc.) Highly recommend checking out Maple Park for your next camping adventure!

This was our second year we typically stay in a 40ft 50a space for a month. The park itself is very nice with a lot of things to do for the kiddos. The park is very tight for big campers like ours and a guide to take us in would have been extremely helpful. When we brought our golf cart in and tried to register it the staff was extremely rude about it. Also we had a change in plans and need to leave a few days early and again we were meet with a poor attitude. In summation the park is fun as long as you don’t change your plans or have to make any additional arrangements with management.

The entrance is too dark, too much bees, camp ground is not well organized, the water can easily get in your tent because it’s too close. it’s hard to go around it because the streets are not cleared. They do have a great beach area and it’s very affordable to camp.

Great place for a family with loads of activities, swimming ponds and paddle boats. As a senior couple, we found the sandy lots are messy in rain. I have camped literally the entire lower 48 and this is the first privately-owned facility that had NO wi-fi. Maybe that's a good thing for some but I found it to be a negative.

Very nice campground. The amenities are great and the store is fabulous. If you forget your beach gear you can purchase it there for a very fair price. The laundry is a bit expensive and unfortunately the neighbors were rude. My son dropped a few items we bought at the store and luckily I turned around and noticed and I saw a guy run up and grab the things we just dropped as we were walking and he took them. I went over to him and got them back but I was shocked. Other campers were very rude as well but the staff was VERY nice! There are a ton of ants and ticks at the sites but they are a good size and it is otherwise very clean. We would absolutely come back by hope for nicer neighbors!
