By far, this has been the single best private campground we have stayed at. It's a small campground just off Hwy 90. There are some shaded spots, depending on where you park. The landscape is wonderful, next to the river are cattails and tall grass. There are several swings scattered about for just leisure, a good place to read a book or watch for wildlife. There is a small outdoor theatre, and an area with a burn pit and benches overlooking the Slough. There is a canoe/kayak launch onto the Slough on the property. The manager even provided shuttle for my husband for a short kayak journey. The campground has a food truck, convenience store, fuel and propane. There is also a small bar and casino. As we were staying at the campground, we received a discount on our LP which we didn't expect. We had only planned on staying one or two nights as we were having repairs done on our camper. When we found out that we would need to extend our stay they changed our daily rate to a weekly rate which really helped us out. My only issue - I never saw the moose!! There is a family of four or five that are generally in the area.

We enjoyed our stay at the campground. It was very well parked out. My only complaint is while the free laundry is nice, it does encourage bad behavior. There was a girl, who was not a guest, doing 6-7 loads of laundry that tied up the laundry for over 3 hours. She did not appear to be a paying guest as she drove in from outside the campground to do her laundry and drove off the campsite when she picked up her laundry. If the owners are allowing her to do this, at least tell her to leave one set of machines free for paying customers.

I am so happy I decided to stop here, while heading through Montana. Front desk, at the shop in front - so helpful and friendly. I was tired and hot. Got a great spot under a tree. Tranquil views. Clean bathroom and showers. The store has everything you could want and complimentary coffee in the morning. Plus! A food truck where I grabbed dinner. My Smashburger was excellent as was the mac and cheese. I got a great night's sleep. There's also a gas station to fill up in morning. And a pub that I didn't need to use but looked fun!

Great Alternative to the State Park This is a small, well-kept campground just off the highway, about 15 minutes from Lewis & Clark Caverns. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was peaceful. We had a tent site in the back, and all sites are conveniently close to the bathrooms, which were extremely clean and recently updated. A nice bonus—there’s free use of a washer and dryer, plus stream access. The highway is nearby, so there is some road noise, but it didn’t bother us. We were initially disappointed that we couldn’t get into the state park, but this ended up being an even better option. On-site, there’s a food truck serving amazing BBQ, live music, a small bar, a general store, and even a gas station. Everything you need is right there. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved the campground. The bathrooms/showers and laundry room were very clean. Loved Glassy Junction bar! Special thanks to Martina, Kristen and Christina - they are some of the nicest ladies ever. We appreciated their suggestions for different day trips (especially Martina). You all made our first trip to Montana amazing!!!

Beautiful family run camp ground on the way to Yellowstone. Has a playground for the kids and a general store that seems to have everything from Montana made gifts to beer to Wilcox ice cream. I had a minor incident which was worked out with management. But otherwise, I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in our RV. This was right off the highway, which was perfect for us. Great service and wifi. Has a General store, Bar (delicious coconut margarita!) and a Food truck (Brisket Tacos were fantastic).

Excellent campground with gorgeous views! Quiet, peaceful and welcoming. The staff is well educated in the area and thus, can fill you in with all of the areas natural and historical attractions. The RV park has large, lush grassy areas that our older dog loves. The store has essentials and hot coffee, as well as yummy ice cream. There is also a bar connected to the general store that has different events almost weekly, such as live music and pizza night. We are thankful that this campground is ready for the winter and has the safety and best interest for each camper in mind as they are informative and helpful with preparing the full hook up rigs for the cold weather. Tim, the owner, and actually, the entire staff is well versed on what is needed to keep your water lines from freezing, and will assist you. They put a barrel over our water spigot to keep it from freezing on those super cold nights. The bathrooms are a dream for those of you that are full times, and the laundry is Free!!! Wow! By far, this campgrounds views surpass any others we have seen in montana. The valley, mountains, river, and tree line can all be seen from each spot, making it a photographers dream. The fishing is literally 50 yards from our site, and a trail skirts along the river making it a scenic and easy access to walk. We have been here for 2.5 weeks and will be sad to leave. Thanks for a peaceful escape from the madness of this world.

Stayed overnight in a full hook up site. Location was easy off & on I-90. Bath house was clean and nice. The people working were very pleasant and helpful.

It's pretty much just a gas station now. Used to be a coffee shop on the side with candies and the sort, but I have been there twice and it's either not open or no one to be there. Either way I'm done coming here looking for fudge, milkshakes, and the great popping pearl tea's. Do not know how the camping service since I just came for the drinks and candie.

One of the few RV parks that is open in February (so I'm assuming all year). Kurt was incredibly helpful and friendly. The camping space was just as expected with 20A, 30A, and 50A electric and water. It's far enough away from I-90 that you don't hear much of the road noise. I'll definitely come back on future trips.

We called for last minute reservations for the weekend and was able to get a spot in their dry camping area the 1st night and a full hookup spot the next. We're pretty well set up for dry camping so we chose to just stay put both nights and were just fine. The host is a very personable guy you could talk to all day. The store has excellent ice cream treats too, don't miss that! Absolutely we would stay here again if in the area.

Camp ground is pretty straightforward but the management and staff are top notch, so friendly and accommodating! Nice and clean utilities. On top of the basic needs the store has some real cute odds and ends that make great souvenirs for friends back home. Also you can’t beat the location, right next to the L&C Caverns! We come from Washington State but frequent Montana with our travel trailer and we will definitely be bookmarking this one :)

Thank you Curt And Laurie! We appreciated you finding a way for us to stay in our site instead of having to move in order to extend our stay. This is more than a "campground" since they can accommodate big rigs to tent campers. Cardwell is convenient for the road warriors and centrally located for folks enjoying the L&C Caverns, Yellowstone and small town activities and sites. Keep up with the improvements they are paying off. We look forward to staying here again.

Great experience. Due to car trouble, we happened upon this campground. The host was beyond accommodating, finding us a place to park and assisting with our mechanical repair. The facilities were clean with a fun playground for the kids. The general store had everything we needed along with sweet treats for weary travelers. My husband enjoyed a bike ride with spectacular views. This will definitely be a regular stop during future trips through Montana.
