Great place. During the week it’s real quiet. Once weekend came around, it appeared everyone had a great time. Shower house is large and spotless clean. Very convenient to anyplace in town. The beach area is wide open and dogs loved it. Just great place

We booked this campground due to close proximity to the hospital where a family member was being cared for. Our schedule was uncertain, and Amanda was incredibly understanding and flexible with booking and reservations. The park itself was clean and quiet, road noise almost none. We didn't utilize any of the facilities, so I can't speak to that. Highly recommend if you are looking for a safe place to stay in your RV!

This very nice privately operated park is on a big lake. The management is nice and keeps things in order. We camped one night in our tent and stayed one on a cabin with AC. We were there in early August, and the temperature was quite hot. The cabin is just bare bones, but the AC made it all worth it. Good fishing for big catfish there.

Needed a place to stay the night. Was great and very affordable. Had a bath house with great water pressure and hot water! Very clean also! Even had a laundry mat for the campers also. Has spots for tents and rvs. Everyone was friendly and will definitely come back again!

Close to downtown Peoria, there’s tent, rv and cabin spots. $15 for tent spot, the only things that’s confusing is how the sites are labeled for tent spots. Awesome showers, hot and good pressure, 4 stalls. Check out is 12pm. Right by the lake and a great view of the bridge

Nice, flat and paved parking made for easy set-up. Good location when visiting Peoria. However, very dirty and gross bathrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. And lotsa dirty junk around the property. Won’t stay there again...

I looked every where for a campground for Laborday weekend. Called this place and Sue was awesome. We had so much fun. Definitely coming back!!

First of all we are so grateful for them to squeeze us in for a reservation with 1 days notice. The campground is great, views are amazing, and you are literally on the beach of the Illinois river. But some negatives they lost a star for. 1. In the overflow “unpaved” section there is 1 station of power for 4 campers. So you definitely need a LONG power cord which our neighbors did not. So campers a little close together. 2. For the non water sites finding the two available spickets for everyone in the overflow was a serious challenge. Esp at 5 pm after the office closed. Luckily we had a kind lady let us use hers from her full site. Better signage would make all the difference. 3. A few neighbor campsites like to blare loud music from their golf cart later than midnight. Which is very disrespectful. Overall great time and perfect weather. Not sure we’d stay again if overflow was all that’s available.

We have stayed here a few times. The first 2 times were decent as we had full hookup sites that met our needs. This last time we stayed we were placed on an electric only 30 amp site in the primitive area. This would have been fine, except the electric hookups are spaced so far apart that it was almost impossible to reach. There were a lot of very old, junky looking campers with people's stuff literally everywhere. One group had an old broken down red bus that looked like a strong wind would tear it apart.. We were woken the last night around 11:00 by someone setting off fireworks that almost sounded like a gun. Would definitely never stay in this area again. Do not recommend

We visited Carl Spindler Campground during the memorial weekend. We could not find any campground for the weekend but fortunately found this spot and booked it for 2 nights. We were lucky enough to secure a tent spot right by the river side. We had one of the best views, we watched the sunset, put on tents, barbecued some yummy Chicken and Paneer, and enjoyed some good stories by the camp fire. The next day we played throw ball in the water and kayaked (there were only 2 kayaks available for rent). They have restrooms and showers at the camp site which was really convenient. The only disadvantage was it got really really cold during night and we could not sleep well in our tents.
