Probably one of the smallest State Parks we have camped at. Quiet, super clean, super friendly people. Spacious level camping spots. The swimming / beach area is clean and refreshing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (for the lake and Maggie the dog) ⭐️ (for the bathrooms… yikes) Carr Creek State Park Campground is one of those places where you show up and think, “Yep, this is going to be an adventure.” First off, when we arrived, our campsite was already occupied. Now normally this would be a horror story, but in true Kentucky hospitality fashion, we simply shifted a few feet over and set up camp right beside the original site. Honestly, it felt less like a mix-up and more like we gained neighbors—and we lucked out, because they were awesome. To top it off, they came with Maggie, the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. The beach? Fantastic. Beautiful water, great spot to relax, and easily the highlight of the campground. If you come here, definitely pack your floaties because you’ll want to spend most of your day there. Now…the bathhouse. Oh boy. Let’s just say it’s less “bathhouse” and more “haunted house.” Out of multiple showers, only one was working, and when you used it, the water backed up so fast the floor turned into a slip-and-slide of questionable hygiene. If you’ve ever wanted to practice your balance while holding a bar of soap, this is your place. Honestly, the whole restroom situation needs a complete gut job—bring flip-flops and the bravery of a Spartan warrior. Overall: Come for the beach, stay for the friendly neighbors and Maggie the Wonder Dog, but if you value your ankles (or cleanliness), maybe skip the showers altogether.

Love cramping here. A few of the water hook ups didn't work near our camp site and our fire pit ring definitely needs replacement. We camped with a tent but needed water to put out the fire. Otherwise it was peaceful. Hope to camp here again.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. Yes, there are some issues due to flooding, but they have contractors out there fixing the problems. The view is absolutely amazing the staff and the other people here are so friendly and fun my husband travels for his job and we go camp ground to camp ground and this place is on my top 10 list. They have several different areas, and there is boating fishing, hiking swimming, and plenty more they all are like a campground family my husband ended up having a heart attack and we had to leave our rv for a few days and the staff worker Angie she came down and wattered my plants and her and another worker there kept a watch on our rv they really are a family I love carr creek campground. Oh they even have yard sales and they hide a rock for the kids in the campground to find and they receive a prize you will not regret going to carr creek campground.

Beach was an easy drive, free parking, free access. Great scenery of bridge and lake. Boats passing made gentle waves. Our family enjoyed our day here. Take your own cooler as there is nowhere to get anything close. Also take your own blankets and chairs, we sat up in the grass. Sand is a little too wet to put a towel.

Went with family for a nice little fishing day and it was amazing. The view was beautiful and everyone was very friendly. And mostly the handicapped fishing docks was the best.

The site was nice and the grass area to the side and behind was very large. Of the dozen campers there on arrival 5 had no one around the 5 days there.

Extremely clean and well marked swimming area. It was a wonderful experience for my grandchildren, as well as my husband and I. We have visited many state parks and campgrounds, this was the cleanest one we have visited.

Decent swim area, but outdated facilities. Fortunately, it wasn't crowded late in the day and there's lots of lake to access by kayak. Campground seems RV friendly, but I didn't see any tents. Playground for kids.
