Beautiful! Clean and great fishing.

It's 10$ per vehicle to enter if you don't have a pass, great views and lots of parking lots with picnic tables, unfortunately all these lots seem to be closed for the winter, there were some other lots without picnic tables that were still open and we could easily walk down from them to the shore, over all very serene place with amazing views, definitely worth visiting.

Showing properties near Carter Lake, Colorado and drove by the south shore. It’s a beautiful view, both in the winter and summertime. be sure to check park hours before going.

Great place for a small excursion! The lake is relatively small so it can get crowded and during popular times, the boat ramps get really busy. The boat inspections are usually very fast 🙏🏻 The rangers are ACTIVE. They spend a lot of time making sure you have a parking pass and aren’t using hammocks on trees and only doc for 10min. They do it to keep the place clean and safe and fair, but you should be prepared for an interaction; they are just doing their jobs. For a quick trip from the metro area it’s well worth it. Camping is pretty great for being a camp ground. There are a lot of sites, but it’s still nice and peaceful. Vaulted toilets are usually as clean and tolerable as vaulted toilets can be :)

Wider and longer than I thought it was going to be, less of a round lake shape and more of a long canyon filled up with water lake shape. Very wide so boaters can all have their space and plenty of beach and shore “boat parking” opportunities. Swim beaches and a marina. Rentals for kayaks and SUP (stand up paddle boards) .. wait they aren’t called SUPB’s? lol Bathrooms and camping spaces with Hookups. Well maintained area! $10 to go and has a 24/7 self service kiosk to buy the pass.
