Casey City Park

Overview

Casey City Park offers a peaceful, no-frills camping experience in the heart of rural Iowa. Managed by the local municipality, this park serves as a welcoming rest stop for travelers navigating the interstate corridor. It provides a quiet community atmosphere that contrasts sharply with the noise of larger commercial campgrounds, making it an ideal choice for those who appreciate small-town hospitality and a slower pace of life during their journey.

Location & Surroundings

You will find the park conveniently situated near the historic White Pole Road and just a short distance from Interstate 80. The surrounding landscape consists of rolling farmland and the charming, laid-back streets of Casey. Because the park is tucked away from the main highway traffic, guests can enjoy a serene environment shaded by mature trees while remaining close enough to local conveniences for basic supplies or a quick local meal.

Amenities & Park Features

The facility provides essential services for a comfortable stay, including 30 and 50-amp electric hookups at designated sites. On-site amenities feature basic restrooms and a well-maintained playground area for children to burn off energy after a long day of driving. While the park maintains a minimalist approach, travelers have access to shared water sources and a nearby dump station, ensuring that essential logistical needs are met during their visit to Guthrie County.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Visitors can explore the scenic byways of Western Iowa, with the famous SMILE water tower in nearby Adair just a short drive away. For outdoor enthusiasts, the region offers access to portions of the Raccoon River Valley Trail and various local conservation areas perfect for birdwatching. Exploring the local architecture and small businesses along the historic highway provides a nostalgic glimpse into the heritage of the American Midwest and the golden age of auto travel.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is best suited for cross-country travelers looking for a safe, affordable, and accessible place to park for the night. It is an excellent fit for self-contained RVers who prefer a low-stress environment over high-priced, crowded resorts. Families will appreciate the open green spaces and the safety of a small-town setting, while solo travelers and retirees will value the easy interstate access and quiet nights.

Very quiet and unexpected. Had a very relaxing night! Bathhouse could be updated but ok!

15$ camping, rough looking bathroom, but does have a hot shower (hold lever for water flow); simple electric hookup; little walking path; quiet easy, cute small town

This place is just old Iowa. Beautiful shady in-Town campground with water, showers, electric and a dump station for a whopping $10!!! Stop by and spend some lunch money in this beautiful little town.

I hoped to park for the night but it looks like they're working on the adjoining park and things are messy. Narrow roads. Not a camping location for big rigs like our 39 ft. No clear camping pads. Best for tents or very small campers. We moved on to the next town.

Nice little overnight campground tucked away in the quiet little town of Casey. Quivk, easy access from Route 80. $10 by honor system for 1 night with 30 amp electric. Water, restrooms and shower available but we did not use. We parked on pull thru and had security light front and back of motorhome. Could use some new leveled gravel and site markers but good for an overnight stay.
