Casper KOA Journey

Welcome to Beautiful Central Wyoming!

Deer and antelope still play near the Casper KOA Campground and RV Park. More than 75 percent of the world's pronghorn antelope live within a 90-mile radius of Wyoming's second-largest city. In many places, the Plains look unchanged from the days when the Oregon, California, Mormon, Bridger, Bozeman and Pony Express trails converged here along the North Platte River. Trail ruts are still visible. Visit the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center or browse pioneer exhibits at the Fort Caspar Museum and Historic Site.

The campground is located in the town of Bar Nunn, five miles north of downtown Casper. At an elevation of 5,284 feet, the campground overlooks the City of Casper and commands an excellent view of the city and Casper Mountain to the south. Public tennis and basketball courts and a baseball diamond are located across the street, and golfers can choose from two public courses, one of which was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Or just relax in the big covered pool at the Casper KOA (Memorial Day to Labor Day). The whole family can make itself at home here with mini golf, a playground and a pet walk.

Casper KOA is the only onsite, owner-operated, full service campground in the area. We offer big-rig friendly, pull-thru / full hook-up RV sites and water/electric only RV sites. We offer free restrooms with hot showers, a 24 hour coin op laundry and a convenience store and gift shop. Please join us on your next trip through Wyoming!

It was a nice park with gravel parking and had pull throughs. Not all sites have dump facilities at the site but there is a common dump available. Our site took some doing to level our motorhome. There is a small dog park and a small children's area. The pool is indoor connected to the store.

Conveniently located just off I-25, this KOA was perfect for a quick stop. The staff was very welcoming at check-in and even upgraded us to a full hookup since we were just passing through and didn’t want to unhook. The entire campground is gravel, which keeps things clean, and they have a nice grass dog park that’s well lit. The showers were hot and the whole bathroom/shower area was spotless. The only downside was that the shower stalls were very tight, with little room to dress, so I had to step out. Overall, a very well-kept KOA that I would recommend to anyone passing through.

The strong smell of chlorine and the cold pool water are off-putting, despite being told “the pool is very warm”—it definitely is not. From the moment I arrived, there was a strange, sketchy vibe that I couldn’t ignore. Make sure to bring plenty of food with you because the store inside is severely lacking. It feels like they’re pushing guests toward the restaurant, which explain why the shelves and freezers are nearly empty. Speaking of the restaurant, it has terrible one-star reviews and an outdated menu with prices that have changed in the last five years- which is deceiving. When we first checked in, we were informed that a 90-foot rig was parked near our spot, and we’d have to leave before it did, or upgrade to another site. I made it clear that the rig wasn’t our problem, so they helped us park in a way that allowed the rig to exit before "our" checkout time. If you’re sensitive to negative, controlling, manipulative, shady vibes like I am, this is not the place for you.

This place is amazing. The staff are very nice and helpful, and let us into the pool half hour early. The spots are nice and clean, however it gets pretty dusty and not all spots have shade. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and rhe water pressure in the shower is very nice. Nice location right off of the interstate.

Good stop, close to highway! Very friendly and helpful staff! Would stay again! Gravel and clean site! Close to “ The Hangar” restaurant, was able to walk, just behind campground. Very good! Has a dog park with grass, would prefer more grassy areas for my dog. Pull thru, full hook up site, did not have to unhook our vehicle. Mini golf and pool!
