Overview

Castlegar Cabins RV Park & Campground offers a peaceful retreat nestled in the heart of the West Kootenay region. Known for its lush, wooded setting, the park provides a mix of rustic charm and modern convenience. It serves as an ideal base camp for travelers exploring the natural wonders of British Columbia. The property is known for its cleanliness and friendly service.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the vibrant city of Castlegar, the park is conveniently located near the confluence of the Columbia and Kootenay Rivers. This geographic positioning places visitors in a valley surrounded by the stunning Selkirk and Monashee Mountains. The area is characterized by towering evergreen trees and proximity to major travel routes like Highway 3 and Highway 3A. This makes it an accessible yet secluded spot for those transitioning through the interior of the province. The natural mountain vistas visible from the park remind you exactly why the Kootenays are a top destination.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed with modern RVers in mind, offering full hookup sites with both 30 and 50-amp electrical service. Long pull-through sites accommodate larger rigs, ensuring a stress-free setup for any driver. Guests have access to essential facilities including clean laundry rooms and hot showers. Each site features a picnic table and fire pit, perfect for evening gatherings under the stars. Additionally, the park provides reliable Wi-Fi and on-site management to ensure all visitors have a comfortable and safe experience during their stay.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do just minutes from the campground. The Millennium Park & Ponds offer unique natural swimming lagoons and walking trails along the river. History buffs should visit the Doukhobor Discovery Centre to learn about local heritage. For those who enjoy the water, the nearby Arrow Lakes provide world-class fishing and boating opportunities. Hiking enthusiasts can challenge themselves on the trails at Syringa Provincial Park or explore the scenic Zuckerberg Island Heritage Park, which features unique architecture and peaceful river views just a short drive away.

Great spot for a few nights of camping. Much quieter than you would think! It's a bit sunken from the highway, which helps the noise. Great set up for bathrooms/showers - all in one 'room', which I like. Not much space to run a dog - but, super close to great trails and town to do that. Would stay again for sure!

A very lovely, peaceful, little shady place tucked into its own beautiful nook in the forest and hills. VERY lovingly cared for. Full hookup RV spots, tent sites and cabins smartly put together with clean laundry and rest rooms. The relaxed and gentle vibe and the lovely hosts are really worth the extra praise. Thank you for a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Castlegar Cabins, RV Park, and Campground during our recent road trip. We stumbled upon this gem while passing through Castlegar and were lucky to find availability. We initially booked two nights in a cabin with our two dogs, but after the first night, we happily extended our stay by another night. The cabin was well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing visit, and we especially loved the morning view from the kitchen. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great suggestions for dog-friendly activities in the area. We truly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back!

Great place for a peaceful getaway. Owners Kim and Wylie are kind and helpful. Camp ground is beautifully maintained. Trees, flowers, welcoming sitting areas and best of all a fenced area for dogs to play! Showers and laundry room are very clean. Highly recommend.
