Cave-In-Rock

Cave-in-Rock is a small unincorporated community in Hardin County, Illinois, United States. It is located along the Ohio River, just south of the mouth of the Little Wabash River. The town is named for the prominent cave in the bluffs of the Ohio River. The cave was used as a shelter by river pirates in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The town is home to the Cave-in-Rock State Park, which offers camping, fishing, and other recreational activities. The town is also home to the Cave-in-Rock Ferry, which provides access to Kentucky across the Ohio River.
