A beautiful destination to camp, ⛺️ boat, or just enjoy walking about. They have hot shower, and very clean bathrooms. Very well maintained facilities.

Beautiful state park with lots of amenities. We camped one night in the rv, where the rv sites were spacious, many rv sites had a pull through and all sites had electric and water , some premium site even had rv dump included. We would definitely stop here again.

If you own a large trailer or RV, this is the place to park it. Nice State Park oriented for mega travel machines. If you are looking for Tent or Van Life style, it's rough. Limited spaces among the large vehicles. This is worth respect to the campgrounds on the NE corner of the reservoir.

This is one of the most friendly, clean, and beautiful campgrounds we have ever visited. We have been there 3 times. The campground is well manicured, and there are many trees for shade. And the prices are very low.

I come here often mostly for fishing. North side of the lake has a lot more amenities than the South side, but I prefer the South side cuz there's less people great place to get away for the weekend

This is our second time visiting here in the past two years. Both times it has been very quiet and beautiful, our first time around we were not able to get full hook ups, just water and sewer. That is one drawback, not all the spots have full hook ups. We travel with two small pets and on this visit, April 2025, seem to be a lot of goat heads and other stickers. We have not been walking the dogs across the open fields, just right beside the roadways, and still experiencing the sticker issues. One other small detail, the fire pit in site 110nis on the driver side of the campsite, away from the picnic table in the door from the RV that opens out to that area. Seems kind of odd to have it on the backside of the site. Also, our fire pit was full of unburned charcoal with small strips of wood piled around it, it had never been cleaned out from the previous camper. Hope they don’t blame us for leaving the mess. This would’ve been a five star review had it not been for the fire pit and the stickers, but we still love this park in these campsites

Park area is small but nice to look at, I stopped there to rest on my roadtrip. I would recommend visiting if it’s on your route, I would not drive specifically to it. I took beautiful pictures while I was there.

Really clean cabins and restrooms. The location is about 20 minutes from Hays, so have a cooler for the cold grocery bits in the summer. The Trappers Lodge (there’s a dorm room fridge and microwave in the cabin) has a fun feel to it, and was a great location for viewing the Milky Way at night. Dogs are allowed for an additional fee and have to be on a leash. Next time we’re in that part of Kansas, we’ll be staying at these cabins.

This is a fantastic state park. Everything is well maintained. Campsites are large. Lots of green space which they keep mowed short. Agave Ridge hiking trail is wonderful. Paved and mowed next to the pavement. One mile paved or option to take 4 miles on a mowed path. Clear water, lush vegetation, beautiful bluffs. Take the Scenic Byway and/or visit Castle Rock. Water level at lake has risen considerably since last year. Still a bit below conservation level but much better than it was.
