Cedar Creek Campground

Overview

Cedar Creek Campground offers a quintessential Jersey Shore camping experience tucked away in a wooded setting within Bayville. This park balances the tranquility of nature with easy access to coastal excitement, providing a refreshing escape from the bustle of the nearby boardwalks. It is well-known for its direct access to Cedar Creek, providing a unique waterway experience that distinguishes it from typical seaside parks. Travelers can expect a well-maintained facility that prioritizes a traditional, nature-focused atmosphere.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the heart of Ocean County, the park is surrounded by the lush greenery and unique ecology of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. The property is bordered by the pristine, tea-colored waters of Cedar Creek, which flows directly toward the Barnegat Bay. This location serves as a perfect base for those who want to explore coastal ecosystems and pine forests without staying in the middle of a high-traffic tourist zone, offering a quiet, shaded retreat.

The standout feature here is the comprehensive canoe and kayak rental service, allowing guests to navigate the scenic creek directly from the property. On-site amenities include a large swimming pool, a playground for children, and various sports courts for basketball and volleyball. For those craving the classic ocean experience, the famous boardwalks and white sand beaches of Seaside Heights are a short drive away. Additionally, the nearby Barnegat Bay provides ample opportunities for crabbing, fishing, and boating, making it easy to fill an itinerary with diverse activities ranging from forest hikes to saltwater fun.

Who This Park Is Best For

This campground is ideal for active families who enjoy water-based recreation and traditional outdoor activities like paddling and hiking. We've stayed at this campground several times.. Unlike most we are here in Winter. The people are super friendly and the Campground is quiet, well kept, and clean. They have a great little shop with all the amenities you could want. I think this is a great campground!

Every year I have a friend who holds a great party at the campground. Never a camper myself it seems to amaze me of all the different ways people actually camp. From tents, to campers, cabins and travel trailers seems to me like a fun time whichever way you go.
